I am Susann Oesen, a freelance artist from Jena, and my heart beats for the art of sculptural creation. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by wire as a universal material—flexible, durable, and full of expressive possibilities. After training in media design and sculptural art, as well as several creative study trips, I found my path: creating unique wire sculptures. My works emerge through a meditative creative process in which each wire is woven by hand and every connection is shaped with intention. For me, wire is far more than a material: it is a medium of connection and transformation. In my hands, it becomes a three-dimensional line that moves through space, creates forms, and, through light, produces fascinating shadow play. The iron wire I often use tells its own story with its natural patina—of wind, water, and sunlight. It ages in a poetic way and gives my sculptures a vivid, organic aesthetic. To me, wire is more than a material—it represents connection, change, and the beauty of imperfection. My goal is to touch people with my sculptures, to familiarize them with the art of the in-between spaces, and to open new perspectives on the invisible and the hidden. Ich bin Susann Oesen, freischaffende Künstlerin aus Jena, und mein Herz schlägt für die Kunst des plastischen Gestaltens. Schon seit meiner Kindheit fasziniert mich Draht als universelles Material – flexibel, stabil und voller Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten. Nach Ausbildungen in der Mediengestaltung und plastischen Kunst sowie mehreren kreativen Studienreisen habe ich meinen Weg gefunden: die Erschaffung einzigartiger Drahtskulpturen. Meine Werke entstehen in einem meditativen Schaffensprozess, in dem jeder Draht von Hand verflochten und jede Verbindung bewusst gestaltet wird. Draht ist für mich weit mehr als ein Material: Er ist ein Medium der Verbindung und der Transformation. In meinen Händen wird er zu einer dreidimensionalen Linie, die sich durch den Raum zieht, Formen erschafft und durch Licht faszinierende Schattenspiele entstehen lässt. Besonders der Eisendraht, den ich häufig verwende, erzählt mit seiner natürlichen Patina von Wind, Wasser und Sonne. Er altert auf poetische Weise und verleiht meinen Skulpturen eine lebendige, organische Ästhetik. Für mich ist Draht mehr als ein Material – er steht für Verbindung, Wandel und die Schönheit des Unvollkommenen. Mein Ziel ist es, mit meinen Skulpturen Menschen zu berühren, sie mit der Kunst der Zwischenräume vertraut zu machen und ihnen neue Perspektiven auf das Unsichtbare und Verborgene zu eröffnen. Je m'appelle Susann Oesen, je suis artiste indépendante à Iéna et je suis passionnée par l'art plastique. Depuis mon enfance, je suis fascinée par le fil de fer, un matériau universel, flexible, stable et offrant de nombreuses possibilités d'expression. Après avoir suivi une formation en conception médiatique et en arts plastiques et effectué plusieurs voyages d'études créatifs, j'ai trouvé ma voie : la création de sculptures en fil de fer uniques. Mes œuvres naissent d'un processus créatif méditatif, au cours duquel chaque fil est entrelacé à la main et chaque connexion est conçue de manière consciente. Pour moi, le fil de fer est bien plus qu'un simple matériau : c'est un moyen de connexion et de transformation. Entre mes mains, il devient une ligne tridimensionnelle qui traverse l'espace, crée des formes et produit des jeux d'ombres fascinants grâce à la lumière. Le fil de fer, que j'utilise souvent, raconte notamment, avec sa patine naturelle, l'histoire du vent, de l'eau et du soleil. Il vieillit de manière poétique et confère à mes sculptures une esthétique vivante et organique. Pour moi, le fil de fer est plus qu'un simple matériau : il symbolise la connexion, le changement et la beauté de l'imparfait. Mon objectif est de toucher les gens avec mes sculptures, de les familiariser avec l'art des espaces intermédiaires et de leur ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives sur l'invisible et le caché.
