The town hall of the district town of Eisenberg, which stands on the market square, was first mentioned in 1576. In the 16th century, the building was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, which is still indicated by inscriptions in the anteroom of the mayor's office and above the western gateway. The coat of arms of the town of Eisenberg, which was granted town charter as early as 1274, is carved in sandstone above the entrance portal. The large tower was raised in its present form. In 1999 the town of Eisenberg won the federal prize for the most beautiful town hall. The town hall is the seat of the city administration.
Das auf dem Marktplatz stehende Rathaus der Kreisstadt Eisenberg wurde erstmals 1576 erwähnt. Im 16. Jahrhundert erfolgten Umbauten im Renaissancestil, worauf noch heute Inschriften im Vorraum zum Bürgermeisterzimmer und über dem westlichen Toreingang hinweisen. Über dem Eingangsportal befindet sich in Sandstein gehauen das Stadtwappen der Stadt Eisenberg, welche bereits 1274 das Stadtrecht verliehen bekam. Der große Turm wurde in seiner jetzigen Gestalt aufgestockt. 1999 gewann die Stadt Eisenberg den Bundespreis für das schönste Rathaus. Das Rathaus ist Sitz der Stadtverwaltung.
