En 1927, l'association d'aide aux étudiants d'Iéna a commandé une maison d'étudiants à l'atelier de construction actif de l'école supérieure d'artisanat et d'architecture de Weimar, dirigé par les deux professeurs Otto Bartning et Ernst Neufert. Le bâtiment cubique à ossature en béton armé, avec son toit plat et sa façade en clinker rouge, s'intègre harmonieusement dans le parc environnant du Prinzessinnenschlösschen. Les nouvelles caractéristiques du bâtiment sont les fenêtres tournantes et les bancs universels. À l'intérieur, les salles à manger, le café, la salle des fêtes et les chambres sont en grande partie d'origine.
In 1927, the Jena Student Aid Association commissioned a student house from the active building studio of the State College of Crafts and Architecture in Weimar, which was headed by the two professors Otto Bartning and Ernst Neufert. The cubic reinforced concrete skeleton building with flat roof and red clinker facade blends harmoniously into the surrounding park of the Prinzessinnenschlösschen. New features of the building are the revolving windows and the universal benches. Inside, the dining rooms, café, event hall and rooms are largely original.
Der Verein Jenaer Studentenhilfe erteilte 1927 den Auftrag für ein Studentenhaus an das aktive Bauatelier der Staatlichen Hochschule für Handwerk und Baukunst in Weimar, dem die beiden Professoren Otto Bartning und Ernst Neufert vorstanden. Der kubische Stahlbetonskelettbau mit Flachdach und roter Klinkerfassade fügt sich harmonisch in den umgebenden Park des Prinzessinnenschlösschens ein. Bautechnische Neuerungen sind die Drehfenster und Universalsohlbänke. Im Inneren finden sich Speisesäle (Mensa für Studierende und Mitarbeiter der Hochschulen), Café, Veranstaltungssaal und -räume in weitestgehend originaler Fassung.
