Berlstedt est un quartier de la commune rurale d'Am Ettersberg, au nord du district de Weimarer Land. Berlstedt se trouve au nord de Weimar, sur le versant nord du Grand Ettersberg, à la lisière sud du bassin fertile de Thuringe, à l'ombre des pluies de ladite montagne. La source de la Scherkonde alimente l'étang du village d'Ottmannshausen. Le trop-plein forme la Scherkonde, qui s'écoule à travers le hallier puis dans la Lossa, affluent de l'Unstrut. Berlstedt is a district of the rural community of Am Ettersberg in the north of the Weimarer Land district. Berlstedt is located north of Weimar on the northern slope of the Großer Ettersberg on the southern edge of the fertile Thuringian Basin in the rain shadow of the aforementioned mountain. The source of the Scherkonde feeds the village pond in the district of Ottmannshausen. The overflow forms the Scherkonde, which flows through the meadow and then into the Unstrut tributary Lossa. This rural area is tangent to and accessible from three state roads. As the most populous village, Berlstedt is the seat of the Am Ettersberg municipal administration, whose registry office has been in existence since 1876. Berlstedt was first mentioned in 876; the old village center has the typical shape of a clustered village. Its development into a central village began in 1864 with the construction of a dairy. Today's "main street" is also part of the "Via Regia" trade route, the oldest route linking Eastern and Western Europe. Berlstedt's oldest and largest original monument is the Protestant church "St. Crucis", consecrated in 1696, with its baroque ceiling paintings. Hottelstedt, Ottmannshausen and Stedten a. Berlstedt ist ein Ortsteil der Landgemeinde Am Ettersberg im Norden des Landkreises Weimarer Land. Berlstedt befindet sich nördlich von Weimar an der Nordabdachung des Großen Ettersberges am Südrand des fruchtbaren Thüringer Beckens im Regenschatten des genannten Berges. Die Quelle der Scherkonde speist den Dorfteich des Ortsteils Ottmannshausen. Der Überlauf bildet die Scherkonde, die durch die Flur und dann in den Unstrut-Zufluss Lossa fließt. Dieser ländliche Raum wird von drei Landesstraßen tangiert und erschlossen. Als einwohnerstärkstes Dorf ist in Berlstedt der Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung Am Ettersberg, deren Standesamt bereits seit dem Jahre 1876 besteht. Erstmals erwähnt wurde Berlstedt im Jahre 876; der alte Ortskern hat die typische Form eines Haufendorfes. Die Entwicklung zu einem Zentraldorf begann 1864 mit dem Bau einer Molkerei. Die heutige „Hauptstraße“ ist gleichzeitig Teil der Handelsstraße „Via Regia“, der ältesten Wegeverbindung zwischen Ost- und Westeuropa. Ältestes und größtes, noch im Original bestehendes Denkmal Berlstedts ist die im Jahr 1696 geweihte evangelische Kirche „St. Crucis“ mit ihren barocken Deckenmalereien. Hottelstedt, Ottmannshausen und Stedten a. E. sind Ortsteile von Berlstedt.
