<p>Im ehemaligen Franziskanerkloster zwischen dem Weimarer Zeughof und dem Wittumspalais werden heute die Studierenden der Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar ausgebildet. Im von Efeu umrankten Haus sind nur noch Grundzüge der ehemaligen Klosteranlage zu erkennen, das Südgebäude ist jedoch noch gut erhalten. Gestiftet wurde die Anlage von Herzog Wilhelm III. im Jahr 1453. Martin Luther machte hier bei seiner Reise nach Augsburg Halt und hielt Messe. Im November 1533 wurden die Mönche von landesfürstlicher Seite aus nicht mehr geduldet. Die Gruft mit den Gebeinen adeliger Familien wurde in die Stadtkirche St. Peter und Paul überführt.
