Der Förderverein “Liboriuskapelle Creuzburg e.V.” wurde zu Beginn des Elisabeth-Jahres 2007 mit der Maßgabe gegründet, die geschichtsträchtige, aber in ihrer baulichen Substanz gefährdete Liboriuskapelle umfassend zu sanieren. Ebenso bedurften die wertvollen Wandmalereien, von denen jene zum Leben der Heiligen Elisabeth besonders bedeutend sind, einer umfassenden und fachkundigen Restaurierung. Bereits mit seiner Gründung ist das Anliegen auf überregionales Interesse von Persönlichkeiten aus Kirche, Politik und Wirtschaft gestoßen.
L'association de soutien "Liboriuskapelle Creuzburg e.V." a été fondée au début de l'année de la Sainte-Elisabeth en 2007 dans le but de rénover complètement la chapelle Liborius, riche en histoire mais dont la substance architecturale était menacée. De même, les précieuses peintures murales, dont celles sur la vie de Sainte Elisabeth sont particulièrement importantes, nécessitaient une restauration complète et experte. Dès sa création, la cause a suscité un intérêt suprarégional de la part de personnalités de l'Eglise, de la politique et de l'économie.
The "Liboriuskapelle Creuzburg e.V." association was founded at the beginning of the Year of St. Elisabeth in 2007 with the aim of comprehensively renovating the historic but structurally endangered Liborius Chapel. The valuable wall paintings, of which those depicting the life of St. Elisabeth are particularly important, were also in need of comprehensive and expert restoration. Since its foundation, the project has attracted interest from personalities from the church, politics and business beyond the region.
