In der Zeit, von 1743 bis 1792, lebte Ernst Wilhelm von Wangenheim im Schloss Behringen und ließ den großen Schlosspark anlegen. Die heute ca. 250 Jahre alte Weymouthskiefer ist Wahrzeichen Behringens und das Herzstück des Schloss- und Skulpturenparks. Der durch einen Umstand abgebrochene Kronenzweig am Baum wurde durch eine ganze Reihe von Nebenzweigen ersetzt, die zur Höhe aufstrebten und die besondere Form des Nadelbaums erklärt.

From 1743 to 1792, Ernst Wilhelm von Wangenheim lived at Behringen Castle and had the large castle park laid out. The Weymouth pine, now approximately 250 years old, is Behringen’s landmark and the centerpiece of the castle and sculpture park. The crown branch of the tree, which broke off due to an accident, was replaced by a whole series of side branches that shot upward, explaining the conifer’s distinctive shape.
