About: Queienfeld

Der Ortsteil Queienfeld liegt am Südwesthang des Queienberges, ca. 16 km von Meiningen. Am Rande der Ortslage verläuft die "Bibra". Der Ort wurde 1057 erstmals urkundlich unter dem Namen "Quiunfelt" erwähnt. Seinen Namen erhielt Queienfeld vermutlich von den starken Quellen, welche am Fuße des Queienberges austreten und bis zur heutigen Zeit erhalten sind. Es ist geschichtlich nachgewiesen, dass 1122 auf dem Gipfel des nördlich von Queienfeld gelegenen Queienberges eine der Jungfrau Maria geweihte Kapelle stand. Die einst berühmte und reiche Wallfahrtskapelle mit Friedhof wurde nach der Reformation noch eine Zeit lang besucht und dann abgetragen. Heute noch erinnert ein Holzkreuz an deren Existenz. Ganz in der Nähe steht heute die "Queienberghütte", ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel. Vom Gipfel des Queienberges hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick. Queienfeld ist auch durch seine 1558 mit dem Nachbarort geführte Fehde bekannt geworden, die wegen einiger auf der Römhilder Landwehr stehenden Birnenbäume ausgetragen wurde. Diese Auseinandersetzung ging als "Queienfelder Birnenkrieg" in die Geschichte ein. Im Mai jeden Jahres wird in Queienfeld auf dem Waldfestplatz an der Lutherlinde ein Gottesdienst abgehalten. Zu Pfingsten findet hier das traditionelle Waldfest statt. Schon seit 1952 zieht dieses Openairfestival, das oft als kleines Woodstock bezeichnet wird, Besucher an, weit über die Grenzen des Grabfeldes hinaus. In der Ortsmitte befindet sich die Kirche, welche 1720 neben dem alten Wehrturm errichtet wurde. Gut erhalten ist noch ein Teil des Wehrgrabens, der neben den schönsten Fachwerkhäusern und den drei laufenden Brunnen ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel darstellt. Rund um Queienfeld gibt es eine Vielzahl von schönen und erholsamen Wanderwegen. Im Jahr 2007 jährte sich die urkundliche Ersterwähnung zum 950. mal. Queienfeld feierte dieses Jubiläum mit einer großen Festwoche. Queienfeld hat 524 Einwohner und eine Gemarkungsgröße von 967 ha.

Le quartier de Queienfeld est situé sur le versant sud-ouest du Queienberg, à environ 16 km de Meiningen. La rivière "Bibra" passe à la périphérie du village. Le village a été mentionné pour la première fois en 1057 dans un document sous le nom de "Quiunfelt". Queienfeld doit probablement son nom aux sources puissantes qui jaillissent au pied du Queienberg et qui ont été conservées jusqu'à nos jours. L'histoire prouve qu'en 1122, une chapelle dédiée à la Vierge Marie se trouvait au sommet du Queienberg, situé au nord de Queienfeld. Autrefois célèbre et riche, cette chapelle de pèlerinage avec son cimetière a été fréquentée pendant un certain temps après la Réforme, avant d'être démolie. Aujourd'hui encore, une croix en bois rappelle son existence. Non loin de là se trouve aujourd'hui la "Queienberghütte", un but d'excursion très apprécié. Du sommet du Queienberg, on a une vue magnifique. Queienfeld est également connu pour la querelle qui l'a opposé en 1558 au village voisin, à cause de quelques poiriers plantés sur le barrage de Römhilde. Ce conflit est entré dans l'histoire sous le nom de "guerre des poires de Queienfeld". En mai de chaque année, un service religieux est organisé à Queienfeld sur la place de la fête de la forêt, près du tilleul de Luther. À la Pentecôte, on y organise la traditionnelle fête de la forêt. Depuis 1952 déjà, ce festival en plein air, souvent qualifié de petit Woodstock, attire des visiteurs bien au-delà des frontières du Grabfeld. Au centre du village se trouve l' église, qui a été construite en 1720 à côté de l'ancienne tour de défense. Une partie du fossé de défense est encore bien conservée et constitue, outre les plus belles maisons à colombages et les trois fontaines en activité, un but d'excursion très apprécié. Autour de Queienfeld, il existe une multitude de beaux sentiers de randonnée reposants. En 2007, on a fêté le 950e anniversaire de la première mention dans un document officiel. Queienfeld a fêté cet anniversaire avec une grande semaine de festivités. Queienfeld compte 524 habitants et son territoire s'étend sur 967 ha.

The district of Queienfeld is located on the southwestern slope of the Queienberg, about 16 km from Meiningen. The "Bibra" runs along the edge of the village. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1057 under the name "Quiunfelt". Queienfeld presumably got its name from the strong springs, which emerge at the foot of the Queienberg and have been preserved up to the present day. It is historically proved that in 1122 there was a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary on the top of Queienberg, which is situated north of Queienfeld. The once famous and rich pilgrimage chapel with a cemetery was visited for a while after the Reformation and then demolished. Today, a wooden cross still reminds of its existence. Nearby stands today the "Queienberghütte", a popular destination for excursions. From the top of the Queienberg you have a beautiful view. Queienfeld is also known for its feud with the neighboring village in 1558, which was fought over some pear trees standing on the Römhilder Landwehr. This dispute went down in history as the "Queienfeld Pear War". In May of each year, a church service is held in Queienfeld on the Waldfestplatz at the Luther lime tree. At Whitsun the traditional Waldfest takes place here. Since 1952, this open-air festival, often referred to as a small Woodstock, has attracted visitors far beyond the borders of the Grabfeld region. In the center of the village is the church, which was built in 1720 next to the old fortified tower. Well preserved is still a part of the fortified moat, which is a popular destination for excursions, next to the most beautiful half-timbered houses and the three running fountains. Around Queienfeld there are many beautiful and relaxing hiking trails. The year 2007 marked the 950th anniversary of the first documentary mention of the village. Queienfeld celebrated this anniversary with a big festival week. Queienfeld has 524 inhabitants and a size of 967 ha.
