The entire municipality covers an area of 12,105 hectares, or around 121 square kilometers.</p><p>The municipality of Grabfeld was created on December 1, 2007 through the merger of the previously politically independent municipalities of Behrungen, Berkach, Bibra, Exdorf with Obendorf, Jüchsen, Nordheim, Queienfeld, Rentwertshausen, Schwickershausen and Wolfmannshausen. Until then, these were united in the "Grabfeld" administrative community for the joint handling of administrative tasks.</p><p>As part of voluntary territorial reforms, Bauerbach joined the Grabfeld municipality on 01.01.2012 and Wölfershausen on 01.01.2019.</p><p>On the one hand, the municipality of Grabfeld is characterized by fertile agricultural land and extensive forest areas. On the other hand, many small and medium-sized companies are developing very successfully in smaller commercial and industrial areas as well as in other individual locations, but especially in the Thüringer Tor industrial area (I.T.T./ A71).</p><p>Due to the large size of the municipality, there are also ideal areas for residential development away from the business community. With 7 daycare centers (care from 1 year), 2 elementary school and a community school, the municipality offers the best development opportunities for families. Playgrounds and sports fields in almost all districts also contribute to this.</p><p>The advantages of the municipality of Grabfeld as a place to live are its quiet and natural location, without having to forego the infrastructural offers of the nearby supply centers (Meiningen, Hildburghausen, Bad Königshofen, Mellrichstadt, Bad Neustadt). Here you will find secondary schools (e.g. two grammar schools in Meiningen), cinemas, spas and swimming pools, theaters, museums and other cultural, sporting and gastronomic facilities. Thanks to the direct connection to the A71 freeway, larger centers such as Erfurt, Schweinfurt and Würzburg can also be reached quickly.</p>
<p>La commune de Grabfeld se situe au sud du district de Schmalkalden-Meiningen, dans l'État libre de Thuringe. Elle est limitrophe de l'État libre de Bavière et comprend le territoire nord de la région qui porte son nom, le Grabfeld.</p><p>La commune compte 13 quartiers, dans lesquels vivent environ 5.700 habitants. L'ensemble de la commune s'étend sur une superficie de 12.105 hectares, soit environ 121 kilomètres carrés.</p><p>Le 01.12.2007, la commune de Grabfeld a été créée par la fusion des communes de Behrungen, Berkach, Bibra, Exdorf avec le quartier d'Obendorf, Jüchsen, Nordheim, Queienfeld, Rentwertshausen, Schwickershausen et Wolfmannshausen, qui étaient jusqu'alors politiquement indépendantes. Ceux-ci étaient jusqu'alors réunis au sein de la communauté administrative "Grabfeld" pour l'exécution commune des tâches administratives.</p><p>Dans le cadre de réformes territoriales volontaires, Bauerbach le 01.01.2012 et Wölfershausen le 01.01.2019 ont rejoint la commune de Grabfeld.</p><p>La commune de Grabfeld se caractérise d'une part par des surfaces fertiles pour l'agriculture et de vastes surfaces boisées. D'autre part, de nombreuses petites et moyennes entreprises se développent avec beaucoup de succès dans de petites zones commerciales et industrielles ainsi que sur d'autres sites isolés, mais surtout dans la zone industrielle Thüringer Tor (I.T.T./ A71).</p><p>En raison de la grande étendue de la commune, des surfaces idéales pour la construction d'habitations s'offrent également à l'écart de l'économie. Avec 7 crèches (accueil à partir d'un an), 2 écoles primaires et une école communautaire, la commune offre les meilleures possibilités de développement aux familles. Des terrains de jeu et de sport dans presque tous les quartiers y contribuent également.</p><p>Les avantages de la commune de Grabfeld en tant que lieu de résidence sont sa situation calme et proche de la nature, sans pour autant devoir renoncer à l'offre infrastructurelle des centres d'approvisionnement proches (Meiningen, Hildburghausen, Bad Königshofen, Mellrichstadt, Bad Neustadt). On y trouve entre autres des écoles secondaires (par ex. deux lycées à Meiningen), des cinémas, des piscines et des thermes, des théâtres, des musées ainsi que d'autres installations culturelles, sportives et gastronomiques. Grâce à la connexion directe à l'autoroute A71, les grands centres comme Erfurt, Schweinfurt et Würzburg sont également rapidement accessibles.</p>
