L'église de la Trinité au centre-ville de Sondershausen, avec sa tour de six étages, était l'église de la cour et la chapelle funéraire de la maison princière de la ville de résidence. Au début du 17e siècle, l'église de la Trinité a été construite sur les fondations d'une église précédemment démolie. Peu de temps après son achèvement en 1620, l'église fut victime d'un incendie dévastateur dans la ville, elle ne fut que sommairement sécurisée et ne fut reconstruite par étapes que dans la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle. Le comte et futur prince de Schwarzburg-Sondershausen voulait répondre à ses exigences de représentation en équipant l'église en conséquence. A la fin du 19ème siècle, la chapelle funéraire princière a été ajoutée. The Trinitatis Church in the town center of Sondershausen with its six-story tower was the court church and burial chapel of the royal house of the residential town. At the beginning of the 17th century, the Trinitatis Church was built on the foundation of a previously demolished church. The church fell victim to a devastating city fire shortly after its completion in 1620, was only provisionally secured and was only rebuilt in stages in the second half of the 17th century. The count and later prince of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen wanted to do justice to his claims of representation by furnishing the church accordingly. At the end of the 19th century, the princely burial chapel was added. Renovation of the interior in the 1990s/2000s; new organ in 1997 (Hey) and expansion of the bells in 2018/2020.

Die Trinitatiskirche im Stadtzentrum von Sondershausen mit ihrem sechsgeschossigen Turm war die Hofkirche und Grabkapelle des Fürstenhauses der Residenzstadt. Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts wurde die Trinitatiskirche auf dem Fundament einer zuvor abgerissenen Kirche erbaut. Die Kirche fiel schon kurz nach ihrer Fertigstellung 1620 einem verheerenden Stadtbrand zum Opfer, wurde nur notdürftig gesichert und erst in der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhundert etappenweise wiederaufgebaut. Der Graf und spätere Fürst von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen wollte mit einer entsprechenden Ausstattung der Kirche seinen Repräsentationsansprüchen gerecht werden. Ende des 19. Jahrhundert wurde die fürstliche Grabkapelle ergänzt. Sanierung des Innenraums in den 1990er-/2000er-Jahren; Orgelneubau 1997 (Hey) und Erweiterung des Geläuts in 2018/2020.
