Der Sormitzweg beginnt am südlichen Ende des Wurzbacher Parkes am Zusammenfluss von Langwasser und Oßlabach. Von hieran wird die Sormitz Ihr ständiger Begleiter sein. Durch den Park in nördliche Richtung gelangen Sie zum Markt, der besonders durch seinen "Bunten Turm" auffällt. Das Kusthaus Müller betreibt direkt daneben eine Galerie. Sie überqueren den Markt diagonal und gehen Richtung Bahnhof. Noch vor diesem, biegen Sie rechts hinauf in einen schmalen Pfad ab. Oberhalb am Bahnhof vorbei, sehen Sie nach wenigen hundert Metern unten im Tal des Technische Schaudenkmal Gießerei Heinrichshütte, das Sie über einen Pfad ab dem Bahnübergang erreichen können. Dieser kleine Abstecher ist besonders empfehlenswert. Erfragen Sie aber vorab die Führungstermine. Geradeaus geht es weiter zum Aussichtspunkt Charlottenfels, dessen pilzförmigen Hochstand man über einen kurzen Stichweg links erreicht. Wieder zurück und hinunter führt der Weg nach Klettigshammer mit der Gaststätte "Zum Sormitztal". Rechter Hand folgen Sie der B90 auf dem Gehweg bis zum Ortsausgang und weiter bis zur Klettigsmühle. Gehen Sie hier rechts und folgen Sie einem kurzen Straßenstück Richtung Thierbach. Ein Wegweiser am Fuße des Berges verweist auf einen Forstweg spitzwinklig nach links hinauf. Diesem Hangweg auf der rechten Talseite folgen Sie bis zur Zschachenmühle. In Zschachenmühle angekommen, lohnt sich ein Besuch des Steineladens. Am Ortsausgang überqueren Sie die Sormitz und gelangen nun auf die linke Talseite oberhalb von Fluss und Bahn. Es bieten sich immer wieder schöne Ausblicke. Beim Ortsteil Neumühle werden Bahn und Sormitz erneut gequert. Und nun dürfen Sie dichter am Flussufer wandern. Sie passieren interessante geologische Aufschlüsse, kommen an der Grubersmühle vorbei und erreichen bald den Bahnhof Lichtentanne. Nun sind es nur noch wenige Kilometer auf der linken Talseite, bis Sie die NaturParkWelten und das Naturpark-Haus am Ortseingang von Leutenberg erreichen. Hier laden verschiedene Erlebnisstationen und eine Ausstellung ein, mehr über den Naturpark zu erfahren. Durch die historische Altstadt von Leutenberg die zum Verweilen und Einkehren lockt, gehen Sie gestärkt auf der rechten Talseite mit einem steilen Anstieg über den Löhmberg. Im weiteren Verlauf wandern Sie an der Hubertusklause mit dem kalten Brünnel vorbei bis zum Schliefert und genießen dabei die herrlichen Ausblicke. Jetzt geht es bergab nach Hockeroda, unserem Touerenziel. Die Sormitztalbahn (Strecke Saalfeld – Blankenstein) bringt Sie zu Ihrem Ausgangspunkt zurück. Tipp: Mit 4 Bahnhöfen am Streckenverlauf lassen sich auch kürzere Etappen planen.

Von hieran wird die Sormitz Ihr ständiger Begleiter sein. Durch den Park in nördliche Richtung gelangen Sie zum Markt, der besonders durch seinen "Bunten Turm" auffällt. Das Kusthaus Müller betreibt direkt daneben eine Galerie. Sie überqueren den Markt diagonal und gehen Richtung Bahnhof. Noch vor diesem, biegen Sie rechts hinauf in einen schmalen Pfad ab. Oberhalb am Bahnhof vorbei, sehen Sie nach wenigen hundert Metern unten im Tal des Technische Schaudenkmal Gießerei Heinrichshütte, das Sie über einen Pfad ab dem Bahnübergang erreichen können. Dieser kleine Abstecher ist besonders empfehlenswert. Erfragen Sie aber vorab die Führungstermine.</p> <p>Geradeaus geht es weiter zum Aussichtspunkt Charlottenfels, dessen pilzförmigen Hochstand man über einen kurzen Stichweg links erreicht. Wieder zurück und hinunter führt der Weg nach Klettigshammer mit der Gaststätte "Zum Sormitztal". Rechter Hand folgen Sie der B90 auf dem Gehweg bis zum Ortsausgang und weiter bis zur Klettigsmühle. Gehen Sie hier rechts und folgen Sie einem kurzen Straßenstück Richtung Thierbach. Ein Wegweiser am Fuße des Berges verweist auf einen Forstweg spitzwinklig nach links hinauf. Diesem Hangweg auf der rechten Talseite folgen Sie bis zur Zschachenmühle.</p> <p>In Zschachenmühle angekommen, lohnt sich ein Besuch des Steineladens. Am Ortsausgang überqueren Sie die Sormitz und gelangen nun auf die linke Talseite oberhalb von Fluss und Bahn. Es bieten sich immer wieder schöne Ausblicke. Beim Ortsteil Neumühle werden Bahn und Sormitz erneut gequert. Und nun dürfen Sie dichter am Flussufer wandern. Sie passieren interessante geologische Aufschlüsse, kommen an der Grubersmühle vorbei und erreichen bald den Bahnhof Lichtentanne.</p> <p>Nun sind es nur noch wenige Kilometer auf der linken Talseite, bis Sie die NaturParkWelten und das Naturpark-Haus am Ortseingang von Leutenberg erreichen. Hier laden verschiedene Erlebnisstationen und eine Ausstellung ein, mehr über den Naturpark zu erfahren. Durch die historische Altstadt von Leutenberg die zum Verweilen und Einkehren lockt, gehen Sie gestärkt auf der rechten Talseite mit einem steilen Anstieg über den Löhmberg.</p> <p>Im weiteren Verlauf wandern Sie an der Hubertusklause mit dem kalten Brünnel vorbei bis zum Schliefert und genießen dabei die herrlichen Ausblicke.</p> <p>Jetzt geht es bergab nach Hockeroda, unserem Touerenziel.</p> <p>Die Sormitztalbahn (Strecke Saalfeld – Blankenstein) bringt Sie zu Ihrem Ausgangspunkt zurück.</p> <p><strong>Tipp:</strong> Mit 4 Bahnhöfen am Streckenverlauf lassen sich auch kürzere Etappen planen.</p> <p> </p>
