Sie starten an der überdachten Holzbrücke in Wünschendorf. Entlang der Weißen Elster haben die Vögte einst ihre Landesherrschaft im Auftrag des deutschen Kaisers erschlossen. Begeben Sie sich auf dem Lutherweg hinauf zum Veitsberg. Gegenüber des Pfarramts steht die älteste Kirche des Vogtlands. Deren Ursprünge reichen in das Jahr 974 zurück. Die Wanderung verläuft nun weiter auf dem Lutherweg zum Kloster Mildenfurth. Entlang des Flusses Weida führt sie der Weg schließlich in die Stadt Weida - die Wiege des Vogtlands. Hier bauten sich die Vögte von Weida ihren Herrschaftssitz auf der Osterburg. Viele Kirchen und ehemalige Klöster im historischen Stadtgebiet zeugen von der langen Geschichte.

You start at the covered wooden bridge in Wünschendorf. Along the White Elster, the Vögte once established their territorial lordship on behalf of the German Emperor. Follow the Lutherweg up to the Veitsberg. Opposite the parish office stands the oldest church of the Vogtland. Its origins date back to the year 974. The hike continues on the Lutherweg to the Mildenfurth Monastery. Along the Weida River, the path finally leads you into the town of Weida – the cradle of the Vogtland. Here the Vögte of Weida built their seat of power on the Osterburg. Many churches and former monasteries in the historic town area bear witness to the long history.

Die älteste Kirche, deren Ursprünge bis ins Jahr 974 zurückreichen, ist täglich eine Besichtigung möglich. Der Kulturweg führt weiter auf dem Gessner über den Heinrich-Heine-Weg in Richtung Weida. An der Papiermühle orientiert man sich nach links und erreicht über die August-Bebel-Straße und Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße die romantische Ruine der Widenkirche. Auf dem Erkenbertplatz führt der Weg über den Kirchberg herunter zur Stadtkirche St. Marien. Über die Weida-Brücke geht es zum Rathaus, dahinter links zur Peterskirche und zum Semmelweisplatz, wo sich das ehemalige Nonnenkloster befindet. Schließlich läuft man etwa 200 m hoch zur Osterburg, den Stammsitz der Vögte und Hauptattraktion der thüringischen Kleinstadt.

Auf dem Erkenbertplatz führt der Weg über den Kirchberg herunter zur Stadtkirche St. Marien. Über die Weida-Brücke geht es zum Rathaus, dahinter links zur Peterskirche und zum Semmelweisplatz, wo sich das ehemalige Nonnenkloster befindet. Schließlich läuft man etwa 200 m hoch zur Osterburg, den Stammsitz der Vögte und Hauptattraktion der thüringischen Kleinstadt.
