Auf dem alten Bischofsweg führt der Lutherweg zur historischen Bischofsstadt Zeitz. Sehenswert ist die Wallfahrtskirche Tegkwitz. Der dort tätige erste evangelische Pfarrer Bartholomäus Kratzsch, der schon früh Luthers Schriften kennenlernte, trat 1522 zum evangelischen Glauben über. Er war wohl einer der ersten lutherischen Pfarrer des Fürstentums und hat bereits 1525 die heilige Taufe nach "Luthers Taufbüchlein" an der Brücke zu Lossen vollzogen und 1534 Luthers Deutsche Bibel für die Kirche zu Tegkwitz angeschafft. In Dobraschütz beeindruckt die kleine Barockkirche mit einer einheitlichen, in Blau gehaltenen bäuerlichen Ausmalung der Flachdecke, Emporen und Kirchenbänke. Kayna ist ein Ortsteil der Stadt Zeitz, die 1542 in den Fokus der Reformationsgeschichte rückt. Im Zeitzer Dom St. Peter und Paul führte Martin Luther Nikolaus von Amsdorf als ersten evangelischen Bischof in sein Amt ein. Im August 1544 kommt Martin Luther für 10 Tage nach Zeitz, um sich mit Amsdorf über dessen schwierige Lage im Amt des Bischofs auszutauschen. Eine Kopie des in der Sakristei der St.-Michael-Kirche 1882 entdeckten Originaldrucks der 95 Thesen ist in der Bibliothek der Michaeliskirche zu besichtigen. In der über 1000-jährigen Dom- und Residenzstadt sind die Wirkungsstätten der männlichen Nachfahren Martin Luthers zu finden, wie zum Beispiel die Grabplatte eines Lutherenkels im Kreuzgang des Doms.

On the old Bishop's Way, the Luther Trail leads to the historic bishopric town of Zeitz. Worth seeing is the pilgrimage church in Tegkwitz. The first Protestant pastor there, Bartholomäus Kratzsch, who became familiar with Luther's writings early on, converted to the Protestant faith in 1522.
