Zunächst startete die Tour mit einem gemächlichen Anstieg über den Roten Berg bis nach Großkamsdorf - vorbei am ehemaligen Kamsdorfer Bergwerk, indem heute unter Tage Mountainbike gefahren werden kann. Weiter geht es auf dem Röhrensteig in Richtung Bucha. Ab dem Gartenhügel gelangt man über Wald- und Wiesenpfade ins Saaletal zur Alterbucht. Dieser beliebte Badeort bietet Abkühlung in idyllischer Umgebung. Entlang des Ufers der Hohenwarte Talsperre geht es weiter über den Lettersberg bis zur Presswitzer Spitze. Hier wurde im Zuge des Staumauerbaus der Ort Presswitz im Jahr 1938 vollständig geflutet. In Richtung Staumauer geht es direkt am Wasser weiter - über die Staumauer, den Saalesteig in Hohenwarte und die Talsperre Eichicht wird die Saale jetzt gleich drei Mal überquert. Hier eröffnet sich immer wieder ein toller Blick auf das Wasserkraftwerk der Talsperre vor eindrucksvoller Bergkulisse. Der Saale über den Saale-Radweg weiter folgend gelangt man schließlich in die idyllischen Orte Eichicht und Breternitz. Ab hier verlässt man den Radweg wieder und folgt ab Weischwitz dem Saaletrail bis Reschwitz. Am Ortseingang von Saalfeld lohnt sich ein Blick auf die prächtige Bohlenwand - ein 100 Meter hohes Nationales Geotop mit Info-Punkt.

Le parcours commence par une montée tranquille sur le Rote Berg jusqu'à Großkamsdorf - en passant par l'ancien mine de Kamsdorf, où l'on peut aujourd'hui faire du VTT souterrain. Ensuite, on continue sur le Röhrensteig en direction de Bucha. Depuis le Gartenhügel, on accède par des chemins forestiers et des prairies à la vallée de la Saale jusqu'à l’Alterbucht. Ce lieu de baignade populaire offre une fraîcheur dans un cadre idyllique. Le long du rivage du barrage de Hohenwarte, on continue en passant par le Lettersberg jusqu'à la pointe de Presswitz. Dans le cadre de la construction du barrage, le village de Presswitz a été complètement inondé en 1938. En direction du barrage, on longe directement l'eau : on traverse le barrage, le Saalesteig à Hohenwarte et le barrage d'Eichicht, la Saale est maintenant traversée trois fois. On découvre à chaque fois une superbe vue sur la centrale hydroélectrique du barrage avec un paysage de montagne impressionnant. On suit ensuite la Saale sur la piste cyclable de la Saale jusqu'aux charmants villages d'Eichicht et Breternitz. À partir de là, on quitte la piste cyclable et on suit le Saaletrail de Weischwitz jusqu'à Reschwitz. À l'entrée de Saalfeld, une visite de la splendide Bohlenwand, un géotope national de 100 mètres de haut avec point d'information, vaut le détour.

The route initially started with a leisurely climb over the Roter Berg to Großkamsdorf - past the former Kamsdorfer mine, where it is now possible to mountain bike underground. It continues on the Röhrensteig towards Bucha. From the Gartenhügel you reach the Saale valley via forest and meadow paths to the Alterbucht. This popular bathing spot offers refreshment in an idyllic setting. Along the shore of the Hohenwarte reservoir, it continues past the Lettersberg to the Presswitzer Spitze. During the construction of the dam, the village of Presswitz was completely flooded in 1938. Towards the dam, it continues directly by the water - crossing the dam, the Saalesteig in Hohenwarte, and the Eichicht reservoir the Saale is crossed three times. Here, a great view opens up again and again of the hydroelectric power plant of the reservoir in front of an impressive mountain backdrop. Following the Saale via the Saale cycle path, you finally reach the idyllic villages of Eichicht and Breternitz. From here, you leave the cycle path again and follow the Saaletrail from Weischwitz to Reschwitz. At the entrance to Saalfeld, a look at the magnificent plank wall - a 100-meter-high national geotope with an info point - is worthwhile.
