Der Wanderweg Hünenteich ist für die ganze Familie geeignet: Unterwegs haben auch die kleinen Wanderer am Abenteuer-Spielplatz Wildkatzenkinderwald, an der Umweltbildungsstation und dem Hünenteich vielfältige Möglichkeiten zum Spielen und Entdecken. Wer zusätzlich auch noch knifflige Rätsel lösen will, kann seinen Ausflug mit einer Geocache-Suche entlang des Wanderwegs kombinieren. Der Wanderweg Hünenteich ist ein durch den Deutschen Wanderverband (DWV) ausgezeichneter "Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland" der Kategorie "naturvergnügen". Zertifiziert wird ein Weg nur, wenn er strenge Qualitätskriterien erfüllt. So prüft der DWV, ob mindestens 35 Prozent der Gesamtstrecke aus naturnahem Untergrund besteht, ob die Wegweisung funktioniert und ob der Weg abwechslungsreiche Naturattraktionen bietet. 2016 war er der erste Qualitätsweg unter 20 km Länge mit thematischer Ausrichtung in Thüringen.

Le sentier de randonnée Hünenteich est adapté à toute la famille : en chemin, même les petits randonneurs ont de nombreuses possibilités de jouer et de découvrir dans l'aire de jeux d'aventure Wildkatzenkinderwald, à la station d'éducation à l'environnement et au Hünenteich. Ceux qui veulent aussi résoudre des énigmes complexes peuvent combiner leur excursion avec une chasse au trésor géocaching le long du sentier. Le sentier de randonnée Hünenteich est un "sentier de qualité Wanderbares Deutschland" de la catégorie "nature plaisir", décerné par l'Association allemande de la randonnée (DWV). Un sentier n'est certifié que s'il remplit des critères stricts. Le DWV vérifie notamment si au moins 35 % du parcours total est sur un terrain naturel, si la signalisation fonctionne et si le sentier offre des attractions naturelles variées. The Hünenteich hiking trail is suitable for the whole family: even the little hikers have numerous opportunities to play and discover along the way at the adventure playground Wildcat Kids Forest, the environmental education station, and the Hünenteich pond. Those who also want to solve tricky puzzles can combine their excursion with a geocache search along the hiking trail. The Hünenteich hiking trail is awarded as a "Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland" of the "nature enjoyment" category by the German Hiking Association (DWV). A trail is only certified if it meets strict quality criteria. The DWV checks whether at least 35 percent of the total route consists of natural substrate, whether the wayfinding works, and whether the trail offers varied natural attractions. thuecat:directions @de Alte Streuobstwiese Zunächst läuft man durch eine alte Streuobstwiese, die seit der Nationalpark-Gründung nicht mehr genutzt wird. Im Frühling von Tausenden Blüten verzaubert, reifen über Sommer und Herbst die Früchte, im Winter stehen kahl und erstarrt fast 100-jährige, knorrige Baum­gestalten. Arten wie Grünspecht, Gartenrotschwanz, Wacholderdrossel oder Igel leben hier, auch Reh und Rothirsch erfreuen sich im Herbst an den herab­gefallenen Früchten. Erosionsgraben Im Mai lockt hier ein weißes Blütenmeer aus Bärlauch weiter in den Wald hinein. Breit und tief durchzieht ein Erosionsgraben den Wald. Der Weg führt an einer Rotbuche vorbei, die rundherum mit den Fruchtkörpern des Zunderschwammes bewachsen ist. Entlang des Weges sieht man jede Menge liegendes und stehendes Totholz. Offenfläche Aus dem Wald heraus gekommen, überblickt man eine ehemalige Schießbahn, die hier zur militärischen Nutzung angelegt wurde. Irgendwann wird sich der Buchenwald diese Fläche zurückerobert haben. Im Nationalpark wird in natürliche Prozesse nicht eingegriffen. Die Natur kann sich ganz nach ihren eigenen Regeln entfalten. Rosen sowie Schwarz- und Weißdorn besiedeln das Offenland. Der Neuntöter späht von seiner dornigen Warte aus nach Insekten-Beute, der Baumpieper setzt zum Singflug an, die Goldammer ruft. Im Sommer kann man neben rosa Tausendgülden­kraut auch die rosa-weiß gefleckten Blüten des Fuchsschen Knabenkrautes entdecken. "Kellerloch" Der Weg schlängelt sich vorbei am "Kellerloch", einer Erdfallsenke. Wer genau hinsieht, kann 50 m weiter die sich noch abzeichnenden Wälle der Hünenburg erkennen, einer spätmittel­alterlichen Sperranlage. Wüstungen wie die der Siedlung Graverode und Hünengräber tief im Wald sind nur für das erfahrene Auge erkennbar und zeugen von einer frühen menschlichen Nutzung des Ortes, die jedoch nie von Dauer war. Hünenteich Der Hünenteich ist ein wichtiger Lebensraum: Im Frühsommer erscheinen entlang des Ufers die prächtigen hellgelben Blüten der Wasser-Schwertlilie. Die aufgrund des wechselnden Wasserstandes ausgebildeten Stelzwurzeln tragen eine Besonderheit in sich: In den kugeligen Wurzelknöllchen leben Strahlenpilze in Symbiose mit der Erle, die Luftstickstoff binden können. Gut stick­stoffversorgt mit den "Füßen im Wasser", strotzen ihre Blätter im Sommer prächtig grün vor Kraft.

Fossé d'érosion En mai, une mer blanche de fleurs d'ail des ours attire plus loin dans la forêt. Un large et profond fossé d’érosion traverse la forêt. Le chemin passe devant un hêtre rouge couvert tout autour par les fructifications du polypore amadou. Le long du chemin, on voit beaucoup de bois mort couché et debout. Zone ouverte Sorti de la forêt, on aperçoit un ancien champ de tir qui a été aménagé ici pour un usage militaire. Un jour, la hêtraie aura repris cette surface. Dans le parc national, les processus naturels ne sont pas interrompus. La nature peut se développer selon ses propres règles. Des rosiers ainsi que des aubépines noires et blanches colonisent les espaces ouverts. Le pie-grièche à poitrine rose guette ses proies insectes depuis son perchoir épineux, le pipit des arbres s'élance dans son vol chanté, le bruant jaune appelle. En été, on peut découvrir à côté de la rose centaurée aussi les fleurs rosées tachetées de rose et blanc de l’orchis mâle du renard. "Kellerloch" Le chemin serpente près du "Kellerloch", un affaissement de terrain. En regardant bien, on peut reconnaître 50 m plus loin les levées encore visibles de la Hünenburg, une fortification tardomédiévale. Entlang des Weges sieht man jede Menge liegendes und stehendes Totholz.</p> <p><strong>Offenfläche</strong></p> <p>Aus dem Wald heraus gekommen, überblickt man eine ehemalige Schießbahn, die hier zur militärischen Nutzung angelegt wurde. Irgendwann wird sich der Buchenwald diese Fläche zurückerobert haben. Im Nationalpark wird in natürliche Prozesse nicht eingegriffen. Die Natur kann sich ganz nach ihren eigenen Regeln entfalten. Rosen sowie Schwarz- und Weißdorn besiedeln das Offenland. Der Neuntöter späht von seiner dornigen Warte aus nach Insekten-Beute, der Baumpieper setzt zum Singflug an, die Goldammer ruft.
