Direkt vor unserer Haustür sind unglaubliche Welten verborgen und fast so schwer zu erreichen wie der Mond. Im Karstgestein der Schalkauer Muschelkalkplatte warten viele verästelte, unterirdische Labyrinthe auf ihre Entdeckung. Die Bleßberghöhle wurde am 30. März 2008 bei Tunnelbauarbeiten der ICE-Strecke Nürnberg - Erfurt entdeckt und wird seitdem vom Thüringer Höhlenverein erforscht. Eine Besichtigung der schönsten Höhle in Thüringen ist nicht möglich. Allerdings werden auf zahlreichen Informationstafeln entlang des Geopfads Bleßberghöhle die Entdeckungsgeschichte, die besonderer Geologie an der Verwerfungszone der Fränkischen Linie und Karsterscheinungen, wie Dolinen, Karstquellen und Bachversinkungen erläutert. Der Wanderweg führt von Schalkau rund um die Bleßberghöhle und weiter über Rauenstein zur Zinselhöhle (Besichtigung nach Voranmeldung). Zurück zum Ausgangspunkt der 17,6 km langen Wanderung gelangt man mit der Bahn vom Bahnhof Seltendorf, dem Endpunkt der Tour.

Incredible worlds are hidden right on our doorstep and almost as hard to reach as the moon. In the karst rock of the Schalkauer Muschelkalk Plateau, many branched, underground labyrinths await discovery. The Bleßberghöhle was discovered on March 30, 2008 during tunnel construction work on the ICE line Nuremberg - Erfurt and has since been researched by the Thuringian Caving Association. A visit to the most beautiful cave in Thuringia is not possible. However, numerous information boards along the GeoPath Bleßberghöhle explain the discovery story, the special geology at the fault zone of the Franconian Line, and karst features such as dolines, karst springs, and stream sinkholes. The hiking trail leads from Schalkau around the Bleßberghöhle and further via Rauenstein to the Zinselhöhle (visit by prior arrangement). You can return to the starting point of the 17.6 km long hike by train from Seltendorf station, the tour’s endpoint.

Juste devant notre porte, des mondes incroyables sont cachés et presque aussi difficiles à atteindre que la lune.
