About: Crawinkel

Crawinkel - at the foot of the 721 m high Kienberg - is not without reason called one of the gates of the Thuringian Forest. Even from afar, the prominent church tower of the village greets locals and visitors alike. While in the east and north spacious natural pasture landscapes with grazing cattle and horses characterize the landscape and invite to hiking, biking and carriage driving, the village borders in the south and west directly on the Thuringian Forest. This connection and the transition from open landscape to wooded heights is what makes Crawinkel so appealing. In an unprecedented campaign in 2007, the GEO Day of Biodiversity, organized by the magazine GEO, found out that Crawinkel and its surroundings are home to more animal species than any other region in Germany. This testifies to an intact nature with a high experience value. But also the place has a lot to offer and invites to visit and discover. Not without reason Crawinkel was chosen as the most beautiful place of the district Gotha in 2005. And the appearance and image of the 1600-soul community is constantly being improved. Because of its central location and good traffic connections Crawinkel is the ideal starting point to get to know Thuringia. As a neighbouring town to the well-known tourist resort of Oberhof, visitors to Crawinkel benefit from the infrastructure there. But also the Thuringian cultural cities Eisenach, Gotha, Meiningen, Arnstadt, Erfurt and Weimar can be reached very well and quickly from Crawinkel.

Même de loin, le clocher caractéristique du village accueille les habitants et les visiteurs. Alors que le paysage à l'est et au nord est caractérisé par de vastes pâturages naturels où paissent des bovins et des chevaux, invitant les visiteurs à faire des randonnées, du vélo et des promenades en calèche, le village jouxte directement la forêt de Thuringe au sud et à l'ouest. Ce lien et la transition entre le paysage ouvert et les hauteurs boisées sont ce qui rend Crawinkel si attrayant. Lors d'une campagne sans précédent menée en 2007, dans le cadre de la Journée de la biodiversité organisée par le magazine GEO, il a été découvert que Crawinkel et ses environs abritent plus d'espèces animales que presque toutes les autres régions d'Allemagne. Cela témoigne d'une nature intacte à forte valeur d'expérience, mais aussi d'un lieu qui a beaucoup à offrir et invite à la visite et à la découverte. Ce n'est pas sans raison que Crawinkel a été élue plus belle ville du district de Gotha en 2005. Et l'apparence et l'image de cette communauté de 1600 habitants sont constamment améliorées. Grâce à sa situation centrale et à ses bonnes liaisons de transport, Crawinkel est le point de départ idéal pour découvrir la Thuringe. En tant que voisin de la célèbre station touristique d'Oberhof, les visiteurs de Crawinkel bénéficient des infrastructures de cette dernière. Mais les villes culturelles de Thuringe, Eisenach, Gotha, Meiningen, Arnstadt, Erfurt et Weimar, peuvent également être atteintes rapidement et facilement depuis Crawinkel.

Crawinkel - am Fuße des 721 m hohen Kienberges - wird nicht ohne Grund als eines der Tore des Thüringer Waldes bezeichnet. Schon von Weitem grüßt der markante Kirchturm des Ortes Einheimische wie Besucher. Während im Osten und Norden weiträumige naturbelassene Weidelandschaften mit weidenden Rindern und Pferden die Landschaft prägen und zum Wandern, Radfahren und Kutschfahrten einladen, grenzt der Ort im Süden und Westen unmittelbar an den Thüringer Wald. Diese Verbindung und der Übergang von offener Landschaft in bewaldete Höhen macht den besonderen Reiz von Crawinkel aus. In einer beispiellosen Aktion wurde im Jahre 2007 im Rahmen des von der Zeitschrift GEO veranstalteten GEO-Tags der Artenvielfalt herausgefunden, dass in Crawinkel und Umgebung so viele Tierarten leben wie in kaum einer anderen Region Deutschlands. Dies zeugt von einer intakten Natur mit hohem Erlebniswert. Aber auch der Ort hat einiges zu bieten und lädt zum Besuch und Entdecken ein. Nicht ohne Grund wurde Crawinkel im Jahr 2005 zum schönsten Ort des Landkreises Gotha gekürt. Und ständig wird weiter am Aussehen und Image der 1600-Seelen-Gemeinde gefeilt. Crawinkel ist wegen seiner zentralen Lage und guten Verkehrsanbindung der ideale Ausgangspunkt um Thüringen kennenzulernen. Als Nachbarort des bekannten Tourismusortes Oberhof profitiert der Crawinkler Gast von der dortigen Infrastruktur. Aber auch die Thüringer Kulturstädte Eisenach, Gotha, Meiningen, Arnstadt, Erfurt und Weimar sind von Crawinkel aus sehr gut und schnell zu erreichen.
