En quittant la B 85 et en prenant la route d'accès à Geitersdorf, on arrive au bout d'un kilomètre dans ce village caractérisé par ses maisons à colombages et ses vieux arbres. Le village est dominé par l'église du 17e siècle située sur une colline ainsi que par la maison communale située sur la place du village. En raison de sa situation idyllique - entourée de montagnes de calcaire coquillier boisées de près de 600 mètres de haut - la vallée est communément appelée "la petite Suisse". Le "Rundangerdorf" a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document officiel sous le nom de "Gudisdorf" en 1349. La localité fait partie de la ville de Rudolstadt depuis le 1er janvier 2019.

If you turn off the B 85 onto the spur road to Geitersdorf, you will arrive after one kilometer in the village, which is characterized by half-timbered houses and old trees. The village is dominated by the 17th century church standing on a hill and the community center on the village green. Because of its idyllic location - surrounded by almost 600 meters high forested shell limestone mountains - the valley is popularly called "little Switzerland". The "Rundangerdorf" was first mentioned in a document as "Gudisdorf" in 1349. The village has belonged to the town of Rudolstadt since January 1, 2019.

Wer von der B 85 in die Stichstrasse nach Geitersdorf einbiegt, kommt nach einem Kilometer in das von Fachwerkhäusern und altem Baumbestand geprägte Dorf. Der Ort wird dominiert von der auf einer Anhöhe stehenden Kirche aus dem 17. Jahrhundert sowie dem Gemeindehaus am Dorfanger. Wegen seiner idyllischen Lage - umgeben von fast 600 Meter hohen bewaldeten Muschelkalkbergen - wird das Tal im Volksmund "die kleine Schweiz" genannt. Erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde das "Rundangerdorf" als "Gudisdorf" im Jahre 1349. Die Ortschaft gehört seit dem 1. Januar 2019 zur Stadt Rudolstadt.
