In the immediate vicinity of the ruins of the former Benedictine monastery of Paulinzella is the hunting lodge with its museum on the history of the monastery, forestry and hunting. Many different exhibits, e.g. Romanesque altar chandeliers or the Oberwirbach reliquary treasure, vividly tell the eventful history of the monastery complex and its church, which are among the most important Romanesque buildings in Germany. A second part of the exhibition documents the importance of Paulinzella for hunting and forestry from the 17th to the 19th century with precious hunting weapons and forestry maps.
