Mit der Eröffnung einer Schwefelbadeanstalt im Jahre 1813 unterbreitete dieser auch Vorschläge zur Gestaltung eines Parks, der damit zu einem Teil der damaligen geistigen Bewegung Weimars wurde. Dies trug sich in einer Zeit zu, in der die Menschen die Natur für sich wiederentdeckten und das eigene Wohlbefinden in den Vordergrund rückten.  Spuren der Romantik Noch heute können Sie die Spuren der Romantik erkunden. Naturbelassene Areale mit seltener Flora sowie selbst kreierte Bereiche laden auf einer Fläche von 11 Hektar zum Spazieren und Verweilen ein.  Die Heilwasser des Kurparks Sehr beliebt ist das Heilwasser, welches aus dem Goethebrunnen am Eingang des Bad Berkaer Kurparks sprudelt. Seit 1835, nachdem das Schwefelwasser versiegte, wird es gern für wohltuende Trinkkuren genutzt. Doch nicht nur dafür. 2005 wurde direkt neben dem Brunnen eine Kneipp-Anlage eröffnet, denn Wassertreten wirkt tagsüber erfrischend und abends beruhigend, stärkt den Kreislauf und das Immunsystem.
