About: Körner

La commune de Körner, avec ses quartiers Osterkörner et Volkenroda, est située entre les centres industrialisés de Mühlhausen et Schlotheim, dans une zone plus agricole du district d'Unstrut-Hainich. La proximité immédiate des zones naturelles Volkenrodaer Wald, Mühlhäuser Forst et Mühlhäuser Hardt ainsi que de Hainich et Hainleite et une bonne liaison routière invitent à une excursion dans la région. De nombreuses découvertes de fouilles prouvent que des personnes se sont installées dans la région il y a plus de 7 000 ans. Körner est l'un des premiers villages de Thuringe à être mentionné dans de nombreux documents. L'origine du nom de l'endroit ne peut être déterminée avec précision. Mais il ne fait aucun doute que "la région est un pays de maïs béni", comme le décrit Brückner dans sa "Description de l'Église et de l'État scolaire dans le duché de Gotha en 1756. Aujourd'hui, Körner est une communauté qui compte de nombreuses petites entreprises artisanales. Le monastère de Volkenroda, dans le district de Volkenroda, mérite d'être vu. Construit sur les vestiges d'un ancien château impérial par l'ordre cistercien et consacré au 12e siècle, le monastère est considéré comme un joyau au cœur de l'Allemagne après la renaissance du complexe en 1990. Mais il n'y a pas que des choses anciennes que l'on peut admirer ici : le Christus-Pavillon, qui a été déplacé ici en 2001, a créé un ensemble fascinant d'ancien et de nouveau. Le pavillon Christus, l'un des pavillons les plus visités de l'exposition universelle "Expo 2000" de Hanovre, s'intègre parfaitement dans le complexe du monastère.

The municipality of Körner with its districts Osterkörner and Volkenroda lies between the industrialised centres of Mühlhausen and Schlotheim, in a more agricultural area of the Unstrut-Hainich district. The immediate vicinity to the natural areas Volkenrodaer Wald, Mühlhäuser Forst and Mühlhäuser Hardt as well as to the Hainich and the Hainleite and a favourable traffic connection invite to a side trip to the region. Numerous excavation finds prove that people settled in the area more than 7,000 years ago. Körner was one of the first Thuringian villages to be mentioned in numerous documents. Where the place got its name cannot be determined exactly. But there is no doubt that "the area is a blessed corn country" as Brückner describes it in his "Description of the Church and School State in the Duchy of Gotha in 1756. Today Körner is a community with many small handicraft businesses. Worth seeing is the monastery Volkenroda in the district Volkenroda. Built on the remains of a former imperial castle by the Cistercian order and consecrated in the 12th century, the monastery is considered a jewel in the heart of Germany after the revival of the complex in 1990. But not only old things can be admired here: the Christus-Pavillon, which was moved here in 2001, has created a fascinating ensemble of old and new. As one of the most visited pavilions of the world exhibition "Expo 2000" in Hanover, the Christus-Pavillon fits perfectly into the monastery complex.

Die Gemeinde Körner mit ihren Ortsteilen Osterkörner und Volkenroda liegt zwischen den industrialisierten Zentren Mühlhausen und Schlotheim, in einem stärker landwirtschaftlich geprägten Raum des Unstrut-Hainich-Kreises. Die unmittelbare Nähe zu den Naturräumen Volkenrodaer Wald, Mühlhäuser Forst und Mühlhäuser Hardt sowie zum Hainich und zur Hainleite und eine günstige Verkehrsanbindung laden zu einem Abstecher in die Region ein. Zahlreiche Grabungsfunde belegen, dass Menschen bereits vor über 7.000 Jahren das Gebiet besiedelten. Körner wurde als einer der ersten Thüringer Orte in zahlreichen Urkunden erwähnt. Woher der Ort seinen Namen hat, kann nicht genau bestimmt werden. Es steht aber außer Zweifel, dass „die dasige Gegend ein gesegnetes Kornland ist“ wie es Brückner in seiner „Beschreibung des Kirchen- und Schulenstaates im Herzogthum Gotha" im Jahr 1756 beschreibt. Heute ist Körner eine Gemeinde mit vielen kleine Handwerksbetriebe. Sehenswert ist das Kloster Volkenroda im Ortsteil Volkenroda. Auf den Resten einer ehemaligen Reichsburg von Zisterzienserorden erbaut und im 12. Jahrhundert geweiht, gilt das Kloster nach Neubelebung der Anlage im Jahr 1990 als Kleinod im Herzen von Deutschland. Aber nicht nur Altes ist hier zu bewundern: durch den 2001 hierher umgesetzten Christus-Pavillon ist ein faszinierendes Ensemble von Alt und Neu entstanden. Der Christus-Pavillon als einer der meistbesuchten Pavillons der Weltausstellung "Expo 2000" in Hannover fügt sich in die Klosteranlage hervorragend ein.
