La tour 1 du mur de la ville est l'une des six tours conservées le long du mur historique de Sömmerda. La tour 1 se trouve à l'extrémité nord de l'ancienne frontière de la ville. Le mur, ses tours et ses portes ainsi que la tour de l'église Saint-Boniface constituaient autrefois les fortifications de la ville de Sömmerda. Celle-ci était complétée à l'ouest par l'Unstrut comme barrière naturelle. Aujourd'hui, la tour des remparts est utilisée comme espace d'exposition. Les contenus sont coordonnés par l'association "Kultur im Sinn".
The city wall tower 1 is one of six preserved towers that can be found along the historical city wall of Sömmerda. Tower 1 is located at the northernmost end of the former city boundary. The wall, its towers and gates as well as the tower of the St. Boniface Church formed the town fortification of Sömmerda in former times. This was supplemented in the west by the Unstrut River as a natural barrier. Today, the city wall tower is used as an exhibition space. The contents are coordinated by the association "Kultur im Sinn".
Der Stadtmauer Turm 1 ist einer von sechs erhaltenen Türmen, die entlang der historischen Stadtmauer Sömmerdas zu finden sind. Turm 1 befindet sich am nördlichsten Ende der ehemaligen Stadtgrenze. Die Mauer, ihre Türme und Tore sowie der Turm der St. Bonifatiuskirche bildeten in früheren Zeiten die Stadtbefestigung Sömmerdas. Diese wurde im Westen durch die Unstrut als natürliche Barriere ergänzt. Heute wird der Stadtmauerturm als Ausstellungsfläche genutzt. Die Inhalte werden vom Verein „Kultur im Sinn“ koordiniert.
