Medieval merchant town in the Thuringian Slate Mountains. The post office milepost from 1722 is a reminder of the times when Auma-Weidatal was an important rest stop on the trade route from Leipzig to Hof. The neat town houses, the former district court and the Liebfrauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) also bear witness to its importance as a trading town. Today, Auma-Weidental is still a rest stop: Those who want to relax in the peace and quiet of nature will find their perfect place here. Via the Georg Kresse hiking trail, the 1st Thuringian Planetary Hiking Trail or parts of the Luther Trail, active vacationers can access the surrounding villages with their sights and enjoy the beauty of the Vogtland.

Die Stadt Auma-Weidatal ist eine Landgemeinde im Landkreis Greiz in Thüringen. Sitz der Verwaltung ist die ehemalige Stadt Auma. Mittelalterliche Händlerstadt im Thüringer Schiefergebirge Die Postmeilensäule von 1722 erinnert an die Zeiten, als Auma-Weidatal eine wichtige Raststation an der Handelsstraße von Leipzig nach Hof war. Auch die schmucken Bürgerhäuser, das frühere Amtsgericht und die Liebfrauenkirche zeugen von der Bedeutung als Handelsstadt. Heute ist Auma-Weidental noch immer eine Raststation: Wer sich in der Ruhe der Natur erholen möchte, findet hier seinen perfekten Platz. Über den Georg-Kresse-Wanderweg, den 1. Thüringer Planetenwanderweg oder Teile des Lutherweges erschließen sich Aktivurlauber die umliegenden Ortschaften mit ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten und genießen die Schönheit des Vogtlandes.
