About: Chapel of Francis of Assisi, Franz-von-Assisi-Kapelle

Die Franz-von-Assisi-Kapelle befindet sich auf dem Gelände von dem Gut Herbigshagen, dem Sitz der Heinz Sielmann Stiftung. Eingeweiht wurde sie am 07.11.1999. Benannt wurde die Kapelle nach dem Heiligen Franziskus von Assisi, da es eine Verbindung zwischen seiner Lehre und dem Naturschutzgedanken der Stiftung gibt: Die Bewahrung der Natur und Schöpfung in ihrer Vielfalt ist moralische Verpflichtung jedes Menschen und führt zu sittlichem Handeln. Die Franz-von-Assisi-Kapelle ist auch die letzte Ruhestätte der Stiftungsgründer Heinz (1917-2006) und Inge Sielmann (1930-2019).

The chapel of Francis of Assisi ist located on the grounds of Gut Herbigshagen, the headquarters of the Heinz Sielmann Foundation. It was inaugurated on 07. 11. 1999. The chapel was named after St. Francis of Assisi , as there is a connection between his teachings and the foundation's idea of nature conservation: The preservation of nature and creation in its diversity is the moral obligation of every human being and leads to moral action. The Chapel of Francis of Assisi is also the final resting place of the foundation's founders Heinz (1917-2006) and Inge Sielmann (1930-2019).

La chapelle François d'Assise se trouve sur le terrain du domaine de Herbigshagen, le siège de la fondation Heinz Sielmann. Elle a été inaugurée le 07.11.1999. La chapelle a été nommée d'après Saint François d'Assise, car il existe un lien entre son enseignement et l'idée de protection de la nature de la fondation : La préservation de la nature et de la création dans leur diversité est une obligation morale pour chaque être humain et conduit à une action morale. La chapelle François d'Assise est également la dernière demeure des fondateurs de la fondation, Heinz (1917-2006) et Inge Sielmann (1930-2019).
