About: Gehren

Gehren is a small town on the border between the Thuringian Forest and the Thuringian Slate Mountains. Today, the ruins and the romantic castle park of the once stately castle, the imposing entrance portal and displays in the town and castle museum are witnesses to the changing history of the town and the region.The town includes the formerly independent villages of Möhrenbach and Jesuborn.Gehren lies in a scenic location in the valleys of the Wohlrose and Schobse streams, close to the world-famous Rennsteig trail in the Thuringian Forest Biosphere Reserve.The town has well-signposted cycling and hiking trails with touristically distinctive hiking destinations. The variety of landscapes is particularly attractive. Mountains, valleys, many ponds and meadows frame Gehren, Möhrenbach and Jesuborn in a special way. The local recreation area "Heideteich", complemented by several lovingly designed playgrounds within the municipal area, is especially available to families with children. Numerous highlights, such as the Michael Bach Days, the Castle Park Festival, markets with cultural programs for young and old, as well as the club activities with their festivals, shape the town life. Gehren est une petite ville située à la frontière entre la forêt de Thuringe et les montagnes d'ardoise de Thuringe. Aujourd'hui, les ruines et le parc romantique du château autrefois majestueux, l'imposant portail d'entrée et les expositions du musée de la ville et du château témoignent de l'histoire changeante de la ville et de la région.La ville comprend les anciens villages indépendants de Möhrenbach et Jesuborn.Gehren bénéficie d'un emplacement pittoresque dans les vallées des ruisseaux Wohlrose et Schobse, à proximité du célèbre sentier Rennsteig, dans la réserve de biosphère de la forêt de Thuringe.La ville dispose de pistes cyclables et de sentiers de randonnée bien balisés, avec des destinations de randonnée à caractère touristique. Gehren ist eine Kleinstadt an der Grenze zwischen dem Thüringer Wald und dem Thüringer Schiefergebirge. Bekanntheitsgrad erlangte die Stadt durch das Gehrener Schloss, der Sommerresidenz der Fürsten Schwarzburg-Sondershausen. Heute sind die Ruine und der romantische Schlosspark des einst stattlichen Schlosses, das imposante Eingangsportal und Darstellungen im Stadt- und Schlossmuseum Zeitzeugen der wandelnden Geschichte der Stadt und der Region. Zur Stadt gehören die ehemals eigenständigen Orte Möhrenbach und Jesuborn. Gehren liegt landschaftlich reizvoll in den Tälern der Bäche Wohlrose und Schobse, nahe des weltberühmten Rennsteiges am Biosphärenreservat Thüringer Wald. Die Stadt verfügt über gut ausgeschilderte Rad- und Wanderwege mit touristisch markanten Wanderzielen. Besonders reizvoll ist die Vielfalt der Landschaftsformen. Berge, Täler, viele Teiche und Auen rahmen Gehren, Möhrenbach und Jesuborn auf besondere Weise. Das Naherholungsgebiet "Heideteich", ergänzt durch mehrere liebevoll gestaltete Spielplätze innerhalb des städtischen Areals, steht besonders Familien mit Kindern zur Verfügung.
