Von hier hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf das Thüringer Becken im Nordosten, den Nationalpark Hainich im Nordwesten und auf die Höhenzüge des Thüringer Waldes samt Großem Inselsberg im Süden. Das Gebiet rund um die Fahner Höhe gilt als Thüringens Obstgarten. Anfang des 19. Jhd. wurden hier die ersten Kirschbäume gepflanzt und damit die Tradition des Fahner Obstanbaus und seiner Verarbeitung begründet. Seither hat sich das Gebiet zu einer ca. 1.000 ha großen Obstplantage entwickelt, wo man sich in Selbstpflückanlagen das knackfrische Obst vom Baum holen kann. Zwischen Friemar und Molschleben verläuft die Fahner Höhe-Route direkt auf dem Nessetal-Radweg.

La région autour de la Fahner Höhe est considérée comme le verger de Thuringe. Au début du 19e siècle, les premiers cerisiers y ont été plantés, fondant ainsi la tradition de la culture et de la transformation des fruits de Fahner. Depuis, la zone s'est développée en un verger d'environ 1 000 hectares, où il est possible de cueillir soi-même des fruits frais directement aux arbres. Entre Friemar et Molschleben, le parcours Fahner Höhe suit directement la piste cyclable Nessetal.

From here you have a magnificent view of the Thuringian Basin to the northeast, the Hainich National Park to the northwest, and the ridges of the Thuringian Forest including the Großer Inselsberg to the south. The area around the Fahner Höhe is considered Thuringia's orchard. At the beginning of the 19th century, the first cherry trees were planted here, thus founding the tradition of Fahner fruit growing and processing. Since then, the area has developed into an approximately 1,000 ha large orchard where you can pick fresh fruit yourself. Between Friemar and Molschleben, the Fahner Höhe route runs directly along the Nessetal cycle path.
