Die Wanderung beginnt auf dem Parkplatz vom Schloss Neuenburg und dem Weinberghotel Edelacker. Anschließend führt der Weg durch eine alte Baumallee in den Wald, der zu Beginn ein Stück durch einen Friedwald verläuft. Entlang der Waldkante kommen Sie am Jagdschloss Klein-Friedenthal an. Früher gab es hier einen Tiergarten mit Lustgarten sowie das Palais Klein-Friedenthal. Die Wanderung führt Sie im Verlauf zum Windberg, hier eröffnet sich der Blick zum Winzerstädtchen Freyburg. Der Rückweg führt durch einen lichten Wald, er eröffnet immer wieder Blicke ins Tal zum Winzerstädtchen und auf die Weinberge. Die Wanderung können Sie alternativ ebenso in Freyburg, mit Ausgangspunkt auf dem Schützenplatz (Parkplatz), beginnen.
