About: Rund um Saalfeld, Around Saalfeld, Autour de Saalfeld

Ce parcours circulaire offre de nombreux points de vue, des cabanes de randonnée et des paysages variés. Lors de la randonnée sur le Kulm, les jardins en creux et la Bohlenwand, la ville de Saalfeld est toujours visible dans la vallée.  Depuis le parking de randonnée "Am Steiger", on marche en direction du Bergfried jusqu’à la tour du renard. De là, un petit sentier descend vers Obernitz en passant par le point d’information Bohlen jusqu’au château. Un chemin assez raide mène ensuite vers la partie supérieure de la Bohlenwand. Le long de la falaise, on arrive enfin à Köditz/Herrengraben. Le chemin continue ensuite par la Rote-Berg-Straße jusqu’à la Schwedenschanze, d’où un chemin de campagne mène jusqu’au Teufelsgraben. De là, on descend vers Altgorndorf. En traversant le village, on longe un peu la Saale-Orla-Radweg en direction de Saalfeld. Après environ 200m, on arrive à une lisière de forêt d’où un chemin à gauche mène vers la « Katze ». Un panneau informe de l’origine de ce nom insolite. Par la route asphaltée suivante, on parvient finalement au petit village de Dorfkulm. De là, un chemin en zigzag conduit au Kulmberghaus avec son restaurant et une tour d’observation offrant une vue spectaculaire. Pour redescendre dans la vallée, on suit le sentier sud-ouest du Kulmberghaus jusqu’à Dorfkulm puis à droite à travers la vallée Melkt en direction de la Saale. Par le Saaleradweg, on atteint le Weidig à Saalfeld, d’où l’on traverse la vallée Siechenbachtal et une partie de la vallée Wittmannsgereuther. Par le chemin en zigzag, on monte ensuite jusqu’à la cabane Spitzberghütte, puis redescend au point de vue Schwarmblick. Le site des grottes de fées de Saalfeld est presque atteint. Une visite guidée dans les « grottes montrant les couleurs les plus riches du monde » est recommandée. Ensuite, on retourne au point de départ.

This circular route offers a variety of viewpoints, hiking huts, and different landscapes. On the hike over the Kulm, the garden hills, and the Bohlenwand, you always have the town of Saalfeld in the valley in view.  From the hiking parking lot "Am Steiger", you walk towards the Bergfried to the Fox Tower. From there a small path leads down to Obernitz, past the Bohlen Infopoint to the castle. A rather steep path then leads up to the upper part of the Bohlenwand. Along the cliff edge, you finally reach Köditz/Herrengraben. Then the route continues along Rote-Berg-Straße to Schwedenschanze, from where a field path leads to Teufelsgraben. From here you descend towards Altgorndorf. While crossing the town, you follow a section of the Saale-Orla cycling route towards Saalfeld. After about 200 m you reach a forest edge from which a path on the left leads towards "Katze". An information board explains the origin of this unusual name. Along the subsequent paved road, you finally reach the small village of Dorfkulm. From here, a zigzag path leads to the Kulmberghaus with a place to rest and a viewing tower with a spectacular view. To get back to the valley, follow the path southwest of Kulmberghaus back to Dorfkulm and then right-hand through the Melktal towards Saale. Along the Saaleradweg, you reach Weidig in Saalfeld, from where the Siechenbach valley and part of the Wittmannsgereuth valley are crossed. A zigzag path then leads up to the Spitzberghütte and subsequently down to Schwarmblick. You have now almost reached the grounds of the Saalfeld Feengrotten. A guided tour through the "most colorful show caves in the world" is worthwhile here. Then you return to the starting point.

Dieser Rundweg bietet eine Vielzahl von Aussichtspunkten, Wanderhütten und unterschiedliche Landschaften. Auf der Wanderung über den Kulm, die Gartenkuppen und die Bohlenwand hat man die Stadt Saalfeld im Tal immer im Blick.  Vom Wanderparkplatz "Am Steiger" läuft man in Richtung Bergfried zum Fuchsturm. Von dort führt ein kleiner Pfad hinab nach Obernitz, am Bohlen Infopoint vorbei bis zum Schloss. Ein recht steiler Weg führt dann hinauf zum oberen Teil der Bohlenwand. An der Felskante entlang gelangt man schließlich nach Köditz/Herrengraben. Danach verläuft der Weg über die Rote-Berg-Straße bis zur Schwedenschanze, von wo aus ein Feldweg bis zum Teufelsgraben führt. Von hier geht es bergab in Richtung Altgorndorf. Beim Durchqueren des Ortes läuft man ein Stück den Saale-Orla-Radweg entlang in Richtung Saalfeld. Nach ca. 200m gelangt man an eine Waldkante, von wo aus der Weg linkerhand in Richtung "Katze" führt. Eine Informationstafel klärt über die Herkunft dieses ungewöhnlichen Namens auf. Über die anschließende asphaltierte Straße gelangt man schließlich in das kleine Dorf Dorfkulm. Von hier aus führt  ein Zick-Zack-Weg zum Kulmberghaus mit Einkehrmöglichkeit und einem Aussichtsturm mit spektakulärem Blick. Um wieder ins Tal zu gelangen, folgt man dem Pfad süd-westlich vom Kulmberghaus zurück nach Dorfkulm und schließlich rechter Hand durch das Melktal in Richtung Saale. Über den Saaleradweg erreicht man den Weidig in Saalfeld, von wo aus das Siechenbachtal und ein Teil des Wittmannsgereuther Tals durchquert wird. Über den Zick-Zack-Weg gelangt man dann hinauf zur Spitzberghütte und anschließend wieder hinab zum Schwarmblick. Nun hat man schon fast das Gelände der Saalfelder Feengrotten erreicht. Hier lohnt sich eine Führung durch die "farbenreichsten Schaugrotten der Welt". Nun gelangt man wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
