Au-dessus de Neustadt, les ruines du château de Hohnstein, vieilles de plus de 900 ans, trônent entourées de forêts mixtes dans le sud du Harz. Le château a été construit par Konrad von Sangerhausen en tant que château ancestral des comtes de Hohnstein vers l'an 1200. Malheureusement, le château a été détruit par un incendie pendant la guerre de Trente Ans. Aujourd'hui, les ruines du château sont à nouveau en très bon état après des années de déblaiement et d'assainissement. L'auberge du château, rénovée à grands frais en 2001, est à nouveau accessible aux visiteurs. La terrasse du château offre sans doute la plus belle vue sur le sud du Harz. The over 900-year-old Hohnstein castle ruins are enthroned above Neustadt, surrounded by mixed forests in the southern Harz Mountains. The castle was built by Konrad von Sangerhausen as the ancestral castle of the Counts of Hohnstein around the year 1200. Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed by fire during the Thirty Years' War. Today, after years of clearing and restoration work, the castle ruins are once again in very good condition. The castle inn, which was extensively renovated in 2001, is also open to guests again. The castle terrace probably offers the most beautiful view of the southern Harz. The castle inn is a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers. It serves knights' meals with hearty dishes, garnished with exciting anecdotes about the castle.

Oberhalb Neustadts thront die über 900 Jahre alte Burgruine Hohnstein umgeben von Mischwäldern im Südharz. Die Burg wurde von Konrad von Sangerhausen als Stammburg der Grafen von Hohnstein um das Jahr 1200 erbaut. Leider wurde die Burganlage im Dreißigjährigen Krieg durch einen Brand zerstört. Heute ist die Burgruine nach jahrelangen Aufräum- und Sanierungsmaßnahmen wieder in einem sehr guten Zustand. Auch der Burggasthof, 2001 aufwändig saniert, ist für Gäste wieder zugänglich. Die Burgterrasse bietet den wohl schönsten Ausblick in den Südharz. Für Wanderer und Mountainbiker ist der Burggasthof ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel. Dort serviert man Rittermahle mit deftigen Speisen, garniert mit spannenden Anekdoten zur Burg. Auch Führungen können durch den Mittelalterverein angeboten werden. .
