As a vibrant small town in the heart of the Hessian Kegelspiel, Hünfeld is an attractive shopping town with a wide range of tourist, gastronomic and cultural attractions. These include the Konrad Zuse Museum with the history of the town and district and the Museum of Modern Art. The Hofgut Praforst golf course is one of the most modern and attractive golf courses in Germany. The adjacent campsite as well as the hiking and Nordic walking trails are often and gladly used. At Haselsee and in the Bürgerpark, rowing and pedal boat hire and a fairytale trail with sculptures invite you to linger. There are also two camper van sites and an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Every year since 1988, a carpet of fruit made from ground flowers, petals and seeds has been created just in time for Thanksgiving. Every year, 60,000 visitors come to Sargenzell to marvel at the work of art. The Via Regia viewpoint provides an additional tourist attraction in Hünfeld. From there, there is a magnificent view as far as the Neuhofer mountains, into the Haunetal valley and to Burghaun over the mountains of the Hessian Kegelspiel. The historical route of the Via Regia can also be seen - the observation tower was named after it. Hünfeld is also the starting point for numerous cycle paths, such as the 27 km long Kegelspiel cycle path to Wenigentaft, the Hünfeld-Schlitz cycle path, the Nüsttal cycle path and a stopover on the Haunetal cycle path.

Am Haselsee und im Bürgerpark laden ein Ruder- und Tretbootverleih sowie ein Märchenweg mit Skulpturen zum Verweilen ein. Weiterhin gibt es zwei Wohnmobilstellplätze, ein Hallen- und ein Freibad. Seit 1988 entsteht jährlich, pünktlich zum Erntedankfest, ein Früchteteppich aus gemahlenen Blumen, Blütenblättern und Samen. Jährlich kommen 60 000 Besucher nach Sargenzell, um das Kunstwerk zu bestaunen. Der Aussichtspunkt Via Regia sorgt für einen zusätzlichen touristischen Akzent in Hünfeld. Ein herrlicher weiter Blick erschließt sich von dort bis zu den Neuhofer Bergen, ins Haunetal und nach Burghaun über die Berge des Hessischen Kegelspiels. Auch der historische Trassenverlauf der Via Regia ist zu überblicken – nach ihr wurde der Aussichtsturm benannt. Zugleich ist Hünfeld Ausgangspunkt zahlreicher Radwege, wie des 27 km langen Kegelspielradwegs nach Wenigentaft, des Radwegs Hünfeld-Schlitz, des Nüsttal-Radwegs sowie Zwischenstation des Haunetal-Radwegs.

Chaque année, 60 000 visiteurs se rendent à Sargenzell pour admirer cette œuvre d'art. Le point de vue de la Via Regia apporte une touche touristique supplémentaire à Hünfeld. De là, la vue s'étend jusqu'aux montagnes de Neuhof, à la vallée de la Haune et à Burghaun, en passant par les montagnes du Kegelspiel hessois. On peut également voir le tracé historique de la Via Regia, qui a donné son nom à la tour panoramique. En même temps, Hünfeld est le point de départ de nombreuses pistes cyclables, comme la piste cyclable du jeu de quilles de 27 km vers Wenigentaft, la piste cyclable Hünfeld-Schlitz, la piste cyclable de Nüsttal ainsi que la station intermédiaire de la piste cyclable de la vallée de la Haune.
