The route connects Arche Nebra with Burg Querfurt. Although there are similar ones along the Himmelswege, those who really want to get to know the region should try the Geo-Trail. It covers about 45km and overcomes 1000 meters in elevation, half distributed over many ascents and descents (up to 10%). It uses paths and walkways, without development. It goes nature-close through fields and meadows. Accordingly, sections can be rutted or overgrown: "Take it sportily, it’s about naturalness and experience." From Arche Nebra to Burg Querfurt, you travel from older to younger (Bronze Age to Middle Ages). The same applies to the rocks underground, on which the varied landscape rests. The basic rule from old to young (stratigraphy) applies here too. Hence, geology is both namesake and guide for the Geo-Trail. It leads from the Buntsandstein of the Ziegelrodaer Forest to the Muschelkalk plateau of the Querfurter Platte, interrupted by the Schmoner Talung (Röt) incised in soft clays. This hard-soft-hard (morphology) alternation shapes the landscape’s relief; from the differing substrates arises the enormous variety of habitats and biotopes (acidic, basic, moist, dry). Before the geological eye unfolds the birth of a sea, a time-travel beginning 245 million years ago, leading from the edge to the core of the Querfurter Mulde. Through 5 million years of Earth history, it goes from the desert (Buntsandstein) to the arts (Röt) into the sea (Muschelkalk). 11 stages segment the Geo-Trail, starting with a theme signboard. This makes 2-day routes plannable. For group rides, a maximum of 10 riders is sensible! 14 geological information boards stand along the route. On each board, the route is shown at the top right, a profile of the following stages with the board locations (T) and milestones (x) marked.

</p> <p> ;</p>

schema:value @en <b><u> Start - Stage 1 (Wangener Grund - Bock </u> </b> <p>-is rather short (3km) and leads north into the Wangener Grund, a former Unstrut riverbed. Upon reaching the forest on both sides, the Geo-Trail sharply turns right uphill and leads to the Bock, a sandstone high plateau (120m steep ascent).</p> <p><b><u> Querfurter Mulde - Stage 2 - Escarpment Landscape </u></b></p> <p>The 2nd stage leads much more evenly back down to today's level of the Unstrut (110m over 3.5km), then climbs steeply to the Vitzenburg in Zingst (25m caution: road usage within town). In the northeast, you can see a dissected valley ridge (Schmoner Talung, Vitzenburg) and behind it a plateau (Querfurter Platte). The Geo-Trail leads from the sandstone of the Ziegelrodaer Forest onto the Muschelkalk high plateau of the Querfurter Platte. In between lies the Schmoner Talung cut into soft red clays and gypsum (Upper Buntsandstein).</p> <p><b><u> Trias Gate - Stage 3 - Buntsandstein Vitzenburg </u></b></p> <p>The third stage starts with a view of the Trias Gate, the Unstrut breakthrough at Nebra. The Geo-Trail ascends the west side of the Vitzenburg ridge and passes the castle of the same name, through the village, heading north. Steeply (<b>caution!</b>) it goes down into the valley to Pretitz, and at the opposite end of the village climbs up to another plateau.</p> <p><b><u> Salinare - Stage 4 - Red Beds; Limestone; Gypsum; Salt </u></b></p> <p>The fourth stage (2.5km) starts on a plateau north of Pretitz with a panoramic view of the slopes rising steeply to the Querfurter Platte. On clear days, the namesake red hues of the red beds in the steep locations can be seen. Due to the substrate (claystone) and slope, even specialized plants struggle to form a closed vegetation cover here. To the north, the Geo-Trail turns into a hollow way (west) to the Siedebach, continuing to Weißenschirmbach. Heading west, you pass through the village and leave it through the Stachelrodaer Grund (Gobitz) towards the Birkenschäferei and the Ziegelrodaer Forest. The flat profile of this stage was modeled by the Siedebach out of basal red bed sediments. From the Ziegelrodaer Forest, the fields slope evenly to the east, marking the boundary of the Middle Buntsandstein. Up to Weißenschirmbach, the soft red bed rocks have already eroded away. The village itself still stands on the hard sandstone benches of the Middle Buntsandstein.</p> <p><b><u> Groundwater - Stage 5 - Stachelrodaer Grund </u></b></p> <p>The 5th stage is short but consistently goes uphill over 1.5 km. A total of 60 meters of altitude must be overcome. Around the well system in the Stachelrodaer Grund, the Geo-Trail enters a narrow V-shaped valley heading west and climbs up to the plateau towards the Birkenschäferei. The water abundance in these valleys is noticeable right from the first forest section. Nearly throughout the year, groundwater naturally emerges here. After a few hundred meters, the slopes widen. A distinct waterlogged area forms in the valley floor. In contrast, the valley flanks are extremely dry, covered with a sparse siliceous substrate. Centuries of use as orchards, grazing, and pasture have created a varied contrast of habitats rich in fauna and flora from the close proximity of water scarcity and surplus. These valleys are nature reserves. Riding through them is a privilege!</p> <p><b><u> Plateau - Stage 6 - Tertiary Land Surface, Ice Age </u></b></p> <p>The long 6th stage (12km) starts on the plateau. It is clearly visible how flat and even the landscape is. There are no peaks, only flat uplands at roughly the same level. The impressive profile with about 160 meters of climbs and descents was only cut by streams and rivers into a continuous plane recently. The Geo-Trail first leads west into the Ziegelrodaer Forest, then roughly north into the next, west-east oriented parallel valley towards Schmon (Pump House). On the southern valley side below Herrmannseck, it goes through the holiday settlement to the small reservoir. Continually downhill towards the Querfurter Platte, passing through Ober- and Niederschmon (federal road). Behind the arch bridge, the ascent begins through the Schmoner slopes, a particularly protected area to be passed quickly and appropriately. Overall, it traverses the Middle Buntsandstein to the Lower Muschelkalk in chronological order.</p> <p><b><u> Querfurter Platte – Stage 7 - Muschelkalk, Fossils </u> </b></p> <p>The seventh stage begins on the plateau of the Schmoner slopes and leads along the edge of the Querfurter Platte north to the B 250. After crossing it, you reach the steep edge above the Leimbach valley. One of these wide, parallel west-east oriented valleys. Heading southwest down into it, following the old path from Querfurt. Through Leimbach, you pass under another railway bridge at the village's western exit. Built of Buntsandstein, it crosses the valley whose exit leads to Hermannseck. The Geo-Trail meets the L 172 in a traffic-calmed zone. This must be used for 500m – <b>caution!</b> At the old forest, the route turns north into the Ziegelrodaer Forest.</p> <p><b><u> Ziegelrodaer Forest – Stage 8 - Relief, Use </u></b></p> <p>The eighth stage continues heading north, passing by the well system. In a tight loop, it descends steeply towards Lautersburg. In the valley bottom, you meet the Querne, whose course accompanies the Geo-Trail further. Around the ponds, it goes northeast towards Lodersleben. At the bottleneck where the forest road crosses the stream, the route turns right onto a small path and stays on the southern valley side. Shortly before the forest edge, the stage ends at the spring intake of the Red Born.</p> <p><b><u> Quernetal - Stage 9 - Querne, Water </u></b></p> <p>The ninth stage is very short at 2km and runs almost entirely along the level of the Querne. Along the stream bed, you reach a small alder forest, a further spring area extending to the bridge. Straight ahead along the stream, you reach the former castle park with summer stage and pond. To the right, uphill behind the clubhouse, the route leads to the western park edge, directly below the castle. Returning to the Querne here, the park is enclosed by a massive sandstone wall. Along this, the Geo-Trail leads away from the stream and climbs steeply south to the former quarry area Trümpelberg (25 meters elevation).</p> <p><u> <b>Lodersleben - Stage 10 - Buntsandstein, Quarrying, Craft</b> </u></p> <p>The tenth stage is also short (2km) and descends over 50 meters into the Querne floodplain, directly below the steep slope of the Querfurter Platte. Around the Trümpelberg, it passes the now built-over quarries of Lodersleben heading west (Kacheltor). A short stretch leads downhill to the north on Leimbacher Straße within town. (Caution!) The Geo-Trail sharply bends west onto Apfelweg, leading to the “Sudel” up to L219 (Allstedt-Querfurt). Before the highway, the route follows below the steep slopes of the northernmost valley side to cross the former railway street. The abundance of dimension stone is visible everywhere in Lodersleben. The Querne divides the village into two halves. Sandstone outcrops rise on both valley sides; many buildings are founded directly on these rocks (castle, forester’s house).</p> <p><b><u> Sinkholes – Stage 11 – Subrosion, Dolines </u></b></p> <p>The last, eleventh stage leads from the wide valley east into the narrow Muschelkalk breakthrough of the Querne towards Burg Querfurt. At 3.5 km length, there are short inclines with a total of 50 meters of ascent and descent.</p> <p>Along the former railway track to the city vineyard, the Geo-Trail before it changes in a hairpin over the derelict monastery site (Mareinzell) across the Querne to the other valley side. Behind the tracks, below the spruces, the route turns sharply east again and follows the valley. Behind the gate, the accompanying coniferous forest on the north slope retreats. The path forks and the Geo-Trail takes the ascending path up to the transformer tower. From there, straight into Aug.-Bebel-Str., reaching the western castle tower. Through the outer castle, the route leads left down to the destination, the entrance gate into the Geo-Nature Park – the northeast bastion.  </p> <p> ;</p>

thuecat:directions @fr Départ - étape 1 (Wangener Grund - Bock - est plutôt courte (3 km) et mène vers le nord dans le Wangener Grund, un ancien cours de l'Unstrut. À l'arrivée dans la forêt des deux côtés, le Geo-Trail bifurque brusquement vers la droite et monte au Bock, un plateau de grès rouge (montée raide de 120 m). Cuesta de Querfurt - étape 2 - Paysage en gradins La 2e étape descend nettement de manière plus équilibrée au niveau actuel de l'Unstrut (110 m sur 3,5 km), pour monter ensuite en pente raide à la Vitzenburg à Zingst (25 m, attention utilisation de la route en agglomération). Au nord-est, on peut voir une vallée découpée (vallée de Schmon, Vitzenburg) et derrière, un plateau (plateau de Querfurt). Le Geo-Trail mène du grès rouge de la forêt de Ziegelroda au plateau de calcaire coquillier de Querfurt. Entre les deux se trouve la vallée de Schmon, creusée dans des argiles rouges tendres et des gypses (grès rouge supérieur). Porte du Trias - étape 3 - Grès rouge Vitzenburg La troisième étape commence avec la vue sur la Porte du Trias, le passage de l'Unstrut à Nebra. Le Geo-Trail monte du côté ouest de la crête de Vitzenburg, passe devant le château homonyme, traverse le village et mène vers le nord. La descente dans la vallée vers Pretitz est raide (Attention !), puis on monte de l'autre côté du village sur un autre plateau. Salinaires - étape 4 - Röt; calcaire; gypse; sel La quatrième étape (2,5 km) commence sur un plateau au nord de Pretitz, avec une vue panoramique sur les pentes abruptes montant vers le plateau de Querfurt. Par temps clair, les couleurs rouges caractéristiques du Röt dans les pentes abruptes sont visibles. En raison du substrat (argile) et de la pente, même les plantes spécialisées ont du mal à former une végétation continue. Vers le nord, le Geo-Trail tourne dans un chemin creux (à l'ouest), jusqu'au Siedebach, puis continue vers Weißenschirmbach. En direction ouest, on traverse le village et on le quitte par le Stachelrodaer Grund (Gobitz) vers la Birkenschäferei et la forêt de Ziegelroda. Le profil plat de cette étape a été modelé par le Siedebach dans les sédiments basal de Röt. Les champs tombent régulièrement vers l'est depuis la forêt de Ziegelroda, dessinant la limite du grès rouge moyen. Jusqu'à Weißenschirmbach, les roches tendres du Röt ont déjà été érodées. Le village repose encore sur les bancs de grès dur du grès rouge moyen. Eau souterraine - étape 5 - Stachelrodaer Grund L'étape 5 est courte mais monte continuellement sur 1,5 km. Il faut surmonter 60 mètres de dénivelé. Dans la zone de la source à Stachelrodaer Grund, le Geo-Trail monte vers l'ouest dans une vallée encaissée et continue jusqu'au plateau de la Birkenschäferei. La richesse en eau de ces vallées est perceptible dès le premier bois traversé. L'eau souterraine affleure pratiquement toute l'année. Après quelques centaines de mètres, les pentes s'élargissent. Au fond de la vallée, une zone est formée par l'eau stagnante. En revanche, les flancs de la vallée sont extrêmement secs, couverts d'un substrat silicaté pauvre. L'utilisation séculaire comme vergers en espalier, pâturage et pacage, a créé un contraste riche en habitats et biotopes, exceptionnellement riche en faune et flore, entre pénurie et excès d'eau. Ce ne sont pas sans raison des zones protégées. Parcourir cette vallée est un privilège ! Plateau - étape 6 - Surface tertiaire, époque glaciaire La longue étape 6 (12 km) commence sur le plateau. On voit bien à quel point le paysage est plat et nivelé. Il n'y a pas de sommets, seulement des plateaux, à peu près au même niveau. Le profil remarquable avec environ 160 mètres de dénivelé en montées et descentes a été façonné récemment par les ruisseaux et rivières, découpant un plan continu. Le Geo-Trail mène d'abord vers l'ouest dans la forêt de Ziegelroda, avant de se diriger environ au nord dans la prochaine vallée parallèle orientée ouest-est en direction de Schmon (maison de pompage). Sur la rive sud de la vallée, en passant sous Herrmannseck, on traverse la station de vacances jusqu'au petit réservoir. Toujours plus bas, la route continue vers le plateau de Querfurt à travers Ober- et Niederschmon (route fédérale). Après le pont en arc, commence l'ascension par les pentes de Schmon, une zone particulièrement protégée, qui doit être traversée rapidement et avec respect. Dans l'ensemble, on traverse le grès rouge moyen jusqu'au calcaire coquillier inférieur dans l'ordre chronologique. Plateau de Querfurt – étape 7 - Calcaire coquillier, fossiles La septième étape commence sur le plateau des pentes de Schmon et longe le bord du plateau de Querfurt vers le nord jusqu'à la B 250. Après l'avoir traversée, on atteint à nouveau la falaise au-dessus de la vallée de Leimbach. Une large de ces vallées parallèles orientées ouest-est. Vers le sud-ouest, on descend dans cette vallée et suit l'ancien chemin venant de Querfurt. À Leimbach, on passe sous un autre pont ferroviaire à la sortie ouest du village. Construit en grès rouge, il enjambe la vallée dont la sortie mène à Hermannseck. Le Geo-Trail rencontre une zone de circulation apaisée sur la L 172. Celle-ci doit être utilisée sur 500 m – Attention ! À l'ancien Forst, la route bifurque vers le nord en forêt de Ziegelroda. Forêt de Ziegelroda – étape 8 - Relief, utilisation La huitième étape poursuit vers le nord, passe devant la source. Dans une boucle étroite, elle descend abruptement vers Lautersburg. Au fond de la vallée, on rencontre la Querne, dont le cours accompagnera encore le Geo-Trail. Dans la zone des étangs, on va vers le nord-est jusqu'à Lodersleben. Au passage étroit où la route forestière traverse le ruisseau, le sentier bifurque à droite sur un petit chemin et reste sur la rive sud de la vallée. Peu avant la fin de la forêt, l'étape s'arrête à la captation de la source du Roten Born. Vallée de Querne - étape 9 - Querne, eau L'étape 9 est très courte (2 km) et se déroule presque exclusivement au niveau de la Querne. Le long du lit du ruisseau, on atteint un petit bois d'aulnes, une autre zone de source qui s'étend jusqu'au pont. Tout droit, le long du ruisseau, on entre dans l'ancien parc du château avec scène d'été et étang. Vers la droite, derrière le local associatif, la route mène à l'extrémité ouest du parc, directement sous le château. De nouveau au niveau de la Querne, le parc est ici ceinturé par un mur massif de grès. Le long de celui-ci, le Geo-Trail s'éloigne du ruisseau et monte raide vers l'ancien site de carrière du Trümpelberg vers le sud (dénivelé 25 m). Lodersleben - étape 10 - Grès rouge, extraction, artisanat La dixième étape, également courte (2 km), descend sur 50 m de dénivelé vers la plaine alluviale de la Querne, directement sous la falaise abrupte du plateau de Querfurt. Autour du Trümpelberg, on passe devant les carrières aujourd'hui bâties de Lodersleben en direction de l'ouest (Kacheltor). Un petit tronçon doit être suivi en agglomération, rue Leimbacher, vers le nord (Attention !). Le Geo-Trail bifurque brusquement à l'ouest dans le chemin des Pommiers, qui mène au « Sudel » jusqu'à la L219 (Allstedt-Querfurt). Avant la route nationale, la route suit la base des falaises abruptes de la rive nord de la vallée jusqu'à la traversée de l'ancienne voie ferrée. La richesse en pierre de taille est visible partout à Lodersleben. La Querne divise le village en deux moitiés. De chaque côté de la vallée, la roche affleure, plusieurs bâtiments reposent directement sur ces rochers (château, maison forestière). Affaissements de terrain – étape 11 – subrosion, dolines La dernière, onzième étape, mène de la large vallée vers l'est dans la passe étroite en calcaire coquillier de la Querne jusqu'au château de Querfurt. Avec 3,5 km de longueur, il y a de courtes montées et descentes pour un total de 50 m de dénivelé. Le long de l'ancienne voie ferrée jusqu'à la vigne municipale, le Geo-Trail change devant celle-ci dans un épingle à cheveux via les ruines du couvent (Mareinzell) en traversant la Querne vers l'autre rive. Derrière les rails, sous les épicéas, la route tourne à nouveau brusquement vers l'est et suit la vallée. Derrière la barrière, la forêt de conifères en versant nord se retire. Le chemin se divise et le Geo-Trail prend le sentier montant jusqu'à la tour du transformateur. De là, tout droit dans la Aug.-Bebel-Str. on arrive à la tour ouest du château. En passant dans la basse-cour, la route descend à gauche vers l'objectif, la porte d'entrée du Geo-Parc naturel – la bastion nord-est.   ;
thuecat:directions @en Start - Stage 1 (Wangener Grund - Bock -is rather short (3km) and leads north into the Wangener Grund, a former Unstrut riverbed. Upon reaching the forest on both sides, the Geo-Trail sharply turns right uphill and leads to the Bock, a sandstone high plateau (120m steep ascent). Querfurter Mulde - Stage 2 - Escarpment Landscape The 2nd stage leads much more evenly back down to today's level of the Unstrut (110m over 3.5km), then climbs steeply to the Vitzenburg in Zingst (25m caution: road usage within town). In the northeast, you can see a dissected valley ridge (Schmoner Talung, Vitzenburg) and behind it a plateau (Querfurter Platte). The Geo-Trail leads from the sandstone of the Ziegelrodaer Forest onto the Muschelkalk high plateau of the Querfurter Platte. In between lies the Schmoner Talung cut into soft red clays and gypsum (Upper Buntsandstein). Trias Gate - Stage 3 - Buntsandstein Vitzenburg The third stage starts with a view of the Trias Gate, the Unstrut breakthrough at Nebra. The Geo-Trail ascends the west side of the Vitzenburg ridge and passes the castle of the same name, through the village, heading north. Steeply (caution!) it goes down into the valley to Pretitz, and at the opposite end of the village climbs up to another plateau. Salinare - Stage 4 - Red Beds; Limestone; Gypsum; Salt The fourth stage (2.5km) starts on a plateau north of Pretitz with a panoramic view of the slopes rising steeply to the Querfurter Platte. On clear days, the namesake red hues of the red beds in the steep locations can be seen. Due to the substrate (claystone) and slope, even specialized plants struggle to form a closed vegetation cover here. To the north, the Geo-Trail turns into a hollow way (west) to the Siedebach, continuing to Weißenschirmbach. Heading west, you pass through the village and leave it through the Stachelrodaer Grund (Gobitz) towards the Birkenschäferei and the Ziegelrodaer Forest. The flat profile of this stage was modeled by the Siedebach out of basal red bed sediments. From the Ziegelrodaer Forest, the fields slope evenly to the east, marking the boundary of the Middle Buntsandstein. Up to Weißenschirmbach, the soft red bed rocks have already eroded away. The village itself still stands on the hard sandstone benches of the Middle Buntsandstein. Groundwater - Stage 5 - Stachelrodaer Grund The 5th stage is short but consistently goes uphill over 1.5 km. A total of 60 meters of altitude must be overcome. Around the well system in the Stachelrodaer Grund, the Geo-Trail enters a narrow V-shaped valley heading west and climbs up to the plateau towards the Birkenschäferei. The water abundance in these valleys is noticeable right from the first forest section. Nearly throughout the year, groundwater naturally emerges here. After a few hundred meters, the slopes widen. A distinct waterlogged area forms in the valley floor. In contrast, the valley flanks are extremely dry, covered with a sparse siliceous substrate. Centuries of use as orchards, grazing, and pasture have created a varied contrast of habitats rich in fauna and flora from the close proximity of water scarcity and surplus. These valleys are nature reserves. Riding through them is a privilege! Plateau - Stage 6 - Tertiary Land Surface, Ice Age The long 6th stage (12km) starts on the plateau. It is clearly visible how flat and even the landscape is. There are no peaks, only flat uplands at roughly the same level. The impressive profile with about 160 meters of climbs and descents was only cut by streams and rivers into a continuous plane recently. The Geo-Trail first leads west into the Ziegelrodaer Forest, then roughly north into the next, west-east oriented parallel valley towards Schmon (Pump House). On the southern valley side below Herrmannseck, it goes through the holiday settlement to the small reservoir. Continually downhill towards the Querfurter Platte, passing through Ober- and Niederschmon (federal road). Behind the arch bridge, the ascent begins through the Schmoner slopes, a particularly protected area to be passed quickly and appropriately. Overall, it traverses the Middle Buntsandstein to the Lower Muschelkalk in chronological order. Querfurter Platte – Stage 7 - Muschelkalk, Fossils The seventh stage begins on the plateau of the Schmoner slopes and leads along the edge of the Querfurter Platte north to the B 250. After crossing it, you reach the steep edge above the Leimbach valley. One of these wide, parallel west-east oriented valleys. Heading southwest down into it, following the old path from Querfurt. Through Leimbach, you pass under another railway bridge at the village's western exit. Built of Buntsandstein, it crosses the valley whose exit leads to Hermannseck. The Geo-Trail meets the L 172 in a traffic-calmed zone. This must be used for 500m – caution! At the old forest, the route turns north into the Ziegelrodaer Forest. Ziegelrodaer Forest – Stage 8 - Relief, Use The eighth stage continues heading north, passing by the well system. In a tight loop, it descends steeply towards Lautersburg. In the valley bottom, you meet the Querne, whose course accompanies the Geo-Trail further. Around the ponds, it goes northeast towards Lodersleben. At the bottleneck where the forest road crosses the stream, the route turns right onto a small path and stays on the southern valley side. Shortly before the forest edge, the stage ends at the spring intake of the Red Born. Quernetal - Stage 9 - Querne, Water The ninth stage is very short at 2km and runs almost entirely along the level of the Querne. Along the stream bed, you reach a small alder forest, a further spring area extending to the bridge. Straight ahead along the stream, you reach the former castle park with summer stage and pond. To the right, uphill behind the clubhouse, the route leads to the western park edge, directly below the castle. Returning to the Querne here, the park is enclosed by a massive sandstone wall. Along this, the Geo-Trail leads away from the stream and climbs steeply south to the former quarry area Trümpelberg (25 meters elevation). Lodersleben - Stage 10 - Buntsandstein, Quarrying, Craft The tenth stage is also short (2km) and descends over 50 meters into the Querne floodplain, directly below the steep slope of the Querfurter Platte. Around the Trümpelberg, it passes the now built-over quarries of Lodersleben heading west (Kacheltor). A short stretch leads downhill to the north on Leimbacher Straße within town. (Caution!) The Geo-Trail sharply bends west onto Apfelweg, leading to the “Sudel” up to L219 (Allstedt-Querfurt). Before the highway, the route follows below the steep slopes of the northernmost valley side to cross the former railway street. The abundance of dimension stone is visible everywhere in Lodersleben. The Querne divides the village into two halves. Sandstone outcrops rise on both valley sides; many buildings are founded directly on these rocks (castle, forester’s house). Sinkholes – Stage 11 – Subrosion, Dolines The last, eleventh stage leads from the wide valley east into the narrow Muschelkalk breakthrough of the Querne towards Burg Querfurt. At 3.5 km length, there are short inclines with a total of 50 meters of ascent and descent. Along the former railway track to the city vineyard, the Geo-Trail before it changes in a hairpin over the derelict monastery site (Mareinzell) across the Querne to the other valley side. Behind the tracks, below the spruces, the route turns sharply east again and follows the valley. Behind the gate, the accompanying coniferous forest on the north slope retreats. The path forks and the Geo-Trail takes the ascending path up to the transformer tower. From there, straight into Aug.-Bebel-Str., reaching the western castle tower. Through the outer castle, the route leads left down to the destination, the entrance gate into the Geo-Nature Park – the northeast bastion.   ;
