DER HOCHRHÖNER® erstreckt sich durch das Herz Deutschlands. Über drei Ländergrenzen hinweg führt der ausgezeichnete Premiumwanderweg vom Kurort Bad Kissingen bis ins Soleheilbad Bad Salzungen. Dabei wandern wir über das Hochplateau der Rhön - die Hochrhön. Auch das höchstgelegene Rhöndorf Frankenheim sowie das Rote und das Schwarze Moor erkunden wir. Um die schönsten Landschaftsformationen einbinden zu können, wurden zwei Varianten entwickelt: Die westliche Route verläuft über die Kuppenrhön und die östliche über das Plateau der Hochrhön. Das leuchtende „Ö“ aus dem Rhön-Logo ist auf allen Schildern zu finden. Auf der Ostroute des Hochrhöners zeigt sich sich das Land der offenen Fernen von seiner schönsten Seite. DER HOCHRHÖNER® extends through the heart of Germany. The excellent premium hiking trail leads across three national borders from the spa town of Bad Kissingen to the saltwater spa in Bad Salzungen. We hike over the highest peaks of the low mountain range: Wasserkuppe, Kreuzberg and Ellenbogen. We experience highlights such as the Franciscan monastery on the Kreuzberg with its centuries-old brewing tradition and the cradle of gliding on the Wasserkuppe. We also explore the legendary rocky ridge of the Milseburg, a Celtic refuge with a ring wall, and the highest Rhöndorf Frankenheim. In order to be able to integrate the most beautiful landscape formations, two variants were developed: The western route runs over the Kuppenrhön and the eastern route over the plateau of the Hochrhön.
