Wichtig zu wissen: der Weg ist nichts für Ungeübte! An der letzten Bebauung geht es spitzwinklig nach rechts und man wandert im Bogen um den Metilstein herum. Bald ist auch die Wartburg in Sicht. Auf der Tour kommen noch einige Aussichtsstellen mit Bilderbuch-Motiven. Bald erreicht der Weg die alte "Eselstadtion" und dann wieder bergauf durch den Wald zur Straße "Auf der Wartburg". Dort hat man direkte Sicht zum Burschenschaftsdenkmal. Links führt ein naturbelassener Pfad zum Teil über Treppen auf den Luther-/Jakobsweg. Man erreicht die Sängerwiese. Dort wird für Verpflegung gesorgt. Weiter geht es geradeaus und bergauf Richtung "Wilde Sau". Nach wenigen Minuten Gehzeit biegt der Weg am Wegkreuz "Stern" nach links Richtung Elfengrotte ab. Nach Erreichen der Felsen der Elfengrotte im scharfen Winkel zu den Knöpfelsteichen. Parallel zum Luther-/Jakobsweg wandert man vorbei an der Kanterbank ins Mariental. Dort überquert man die Bundesstraße 19 und erreicht nach wenigen Metern auf der Wichmannpromenade das Gasthaus Phantasie. Weiter geht's zum Prinzenteich und dem Kartausgarten. Man überquert auf Höhe der Wandelhalle an der Fußgängerampel wieder die B19. Weiter geht es über den Reuterweg bis zu den Treppen am Reuter-Wagner Museum. Über die Beethovenstraße, die Domstraße und die Treppen am Wingolf-Denkmal gelangt man zurück zum Markt.

Important to know: the path is not for beginners! At the last buildings, take a sharp right and walk in a curve around the Metilstein. Soon the Wartburg comes into view. Along the route, there are several viewpoints with postcard-worthy scenes. The path soon reaches the old "Donkey Station" and then climbs again through the forest to the road "Auf der Wartburg." From here, there is a direct view of the Burschenschaftsdenkmal monument. On the left, a natural path, partly over stairs, leads onto the Luther-/Jakobsweg. You reach the Sängerwiese, where food and drinks are provided. Continue straight ahead and uphill toward "Wilde Sau." After a few minutes, the path turns left at the "Stern" crossroads heading towards the Elf Grotto. After reaching the rocks of the Elf Grotto at a sharp angle to the Knöpfelsteiche. Parallel to the Luther-/Jakobsweg, walk past the Kanterbank into the Mariental. There you cross federal road B19 and after a few meters on the Wichmannpromenade you reach the Gasthaus Phantasie. Continue to the Prinzenteich and the Kartausgarten. Cross the B19 again at the pedestrian crossing near the Wandelhalle. Then continue over Reuterweg to the stairs at the Reuter-Wagner Museum. Over Beethovenstraße, Domstraße, and the stairs at the Wingolf memorial, you return to the market.

Important à savoir : le chemin n’est pas adapté aux novices ! À la dernière construction, tournez à angle aigu à droite et contournez le Metilstein. La Wartburg est bientôt visible. Plusieurs points de vue pittoresques jalonnent le parcours. Bientôt, le chemin atteint l’ancienne "station des ânes", puis remonte en forêt vers la route "Auf der Wartburg". De là, la vue directe sur le monument aux corporations étudiants est possible. À gauche, un sentier naturel monte partiellement par des escaliers vers le chemin de Luther/Jacques. Vous atteignez la clearie des chanteurs. Un point de ravitaillement y est proposé. Continuez tout droit et en montée vers "Wilde Sau". Après quelques minutes, au croisement nommé "Stern", prenez à gauche vers la grotte des elfes. Vous atteignez les rochers de la grotte en angle aigu avec les Knöpfelsteichen. Parallèlement au chemin de Luther/Jacques, traversez le Kanterbank vers la vallée de Marie. Traversez la route nationale B19 et, quelques mètres plus loin, sur la promenade Wichmann, rejoignez la auberge Phantasie. Continuez vers l’étang des princes et le jardin chartreux. Traversez à nouveau la B19 au niveau de la halle de promenade à l’aide du passage pour piétons. Continuez le long du chemin Reuter jusqu’aux escaliers du musée Reuter-Wagner. Par la rue Beethoven, la rue de la cathédrale et les escaliers du monument Wingolf, vous revenez à la place du marché.

You can reach Eisenach by regional buses as well as various trains (long-distance and regional trains). From the station or the central bus station, take a short walk towards Karlsplatz and then through the local shopping street (Karlstraße) about 700 m, approximately 10 minutes, to the market. This is where our route begins.
