Der Neubau des Theaters Erfurt wurde im Jahr 2003 eröffnet und zählt zu den modernsten Spielstätten Europas. Der Neubau liegt zwischen dem Domberg und der barocken Festungsanlage, dem Petersberg, und bietet Kulturliebhabern nicht nur Opern und Uraufführungen, sondern auch Operetten, Musicals, Sinfoniekonzerte sowie Schauspiel- und Ballettgastspiele im Großen Haus mit 800 Plätzen. Ausgesprochen sehenswert sind jedoch nicht nur die Inszenierungen des Theaters Erfurt, sondern auch der Neubau selbst. Seine äußeren Strukturen umfangen eine voluminöse freistehende Rundskulptur im Inneren. Ein echtes Highlight sind die alljährlichen DomStufen-Festspiele in Erfurt, bei denen das Theater Erfurt die 70 Domstufen in eine opulente Opern- und Musicalbühne vor der historischen Kulisse aus Dom und Severikirche verwandelt. Darüber hinaus sorgt das Konzept der Studio.Box für die künstlerische Vernetzung von internen und externen Künstler:innen. Die Studio.Box schafft Raum für Experimentelles, Schräges, Literatur, Pop und Avantgarde, klassische Moderne und Dada. Nach dem Motto „Füll die Box mit deinen Ideen“ ist jeder willkommen.

Le nouveau bâtiment du théâtre d'Erfurt a été inauguré en 2003 et compte parmi les salles de spectacle les plus modernes d'Europe. Situé entre la colline de la cathédrale et la forteresse baroque de Petersberg, le nouveau bâtiment propose aux amateurs de culture non seulement des opéras et des créations, mais aussi des opérettes, des comédies musicales, des concerts symphoniques ainsi que des spectacles et des ballets dans la grande salle de 800 places.
