La municipalité de Mihla avec l'OT Buchenau est située sur le cours moyen de la Werra et dans la vallée de la Lauter, directement sur le versant sud de la Hainich, près du parc national du même nom. L'endroit peut se retourner sur un passé de plus de 1200 ans. De nombreux monuments architecturaux en témoignent. Il existe de nombreux sentiers de randonnée autour de Mihla. L'étroite coexistence de la Werra avec ses plaines inondables et ses vallées percées d'un côté et la chaîne de montagnes boisée et à forte pente de Hainich de l'autre est particulièrement charmante. Dans la zone de conflit entre le doux sentier d'altitude "Rennstieg" et les routes de canots pneumatiques de la rivière, il y a des falaises, des joncs, des vues, des pelouses d'orchidées, des barrages, des pentes ascendantes, des vallées verdoyantes, des hauteurs ouvertes et une forêt de hêtres clairs. En plus des sentiers de randonnée qui vont du plus tranquille au plus exigeant en passant par le plus familial, il existe également des possibilités d'itinéraires individuels pour les amis de la tranquillité et de la nature préservée. Il est également possible de pratiquer des activités récréatives dans la piscine extérieure rénovée.

The community of Mihla with OT Buchenau is located on the middle reaches of the Werra and in the valley of the Lauter, directly on the southern slope of the Hainich, near the national park of the same name. The place can look back on a past of more than 1200 years. Numerous architectural monuments prove this. There are plenty of hiking trails around Mihla. Especially attractive is the close coexistence of the Werra with its floodplains and breakthrough valleys on one side and the wooded, steeply sloping Hainich mountain range on the other. In the area of conflict between the gentle "Rennstieg" high-level trail and the rubber dinghy routes of the river there are cliffs, bulrushes, views, orchid lawns, weirs, ascendable slopes, lush green valleys, open heights and light beech forest. In addition to the hiking trails on the scale from leisurely to family-friendly to demanding, there are also possibilities for individual routes for friends of peace and quiet and unspoilt nature. Active recreation is also possible in the renovated outdoor pool.

Der Ortsteil Mihla liegt am Mittellauf der Werra und im Tal der Lauter, direkt am Südhang des Hainichs, in der Nähe des gleichnamigen Nationalparks. Der Ort kann auf eine über 1200-jährige Vergangenheit zurückblicken. Zahlreiche Baudenkmäler belegen diese. Wanderwege gibt es um Mihla reichlich. Besonders reizvoll ist das enge Nebeneinander der Werra mit ihren Auen und Durchbruchstälern einerseits und andererseits des bewaldeten, schroff zur Werra abfallenden Höhenzugs Hainich. In dem Spannungsfeld zwischen dem sanften Höhenweg "Rennstieg" und den Schlauchbootrouten des Flusses finden sich Klippen, Rohrkolben, Ausblicke, Orchideenrasen, Wehre, ersteigbare Hänge, sattgrüne Täler, offene Höhen und lichter Buchenwald. Neben den Wanderwegen auf der Skale von geruhsam über familiengerecht bis anspruchsvoll gibt es hier noch Möglichkeiten für individuelle Routen für Freunde der Ruhe und wenig berührter Natur. Aktive Erholung ist auch im sanierten Freibad möglich.
