Der Radweg durchzieht das idyllische Nessetal mit seinen kleinen Dörfern, fruchtbaren Äckern, bunten Wiesen und sanften Flussauen. Die Nesse – ein typischer Flachlandfluss – entspringt im Erfurter Stadtteil Alach und mündet nach knapp 55 km am Stadtrand von Eisenach in die Hörsel. Der Nessetal-Radweg hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Er verläuft durch klassisches Thüringer Natur- und Bauernland und verbindet zugleich zwei der historisch und kulturell bedeutendsten Städte Thüringens: Erfurt und Eisenach. Eine dritte – die Residenzstadt Gotha – ist über drei regionale Radwanderrouten ebenfalls mit dem Nessetal-Radweg verbunden. Der längste Abschnitt (knapp 40 km) des Radweges führt durch den nördlichen Landkreis Gotha (Gamstädt bis Haina) und damit über ackerbaulich genutztes, flachwelliges Hügelland mit Talauen und bewaldeten Muschelkalkrücken. Auf dem Abschnitt Warza bis zum Verkehrslandeplatz Kindel verläuft er ca. 16 km direkt auf der „Alten Bahntrasse“, dem einstigen Gleisbett der „Nessetalbahn“. Abgesehen von dem etwas anspruchsvolleren Abschnitt Flugplatz Kindel bis Eisenach, ermöglicht der Nessetal-Radweg ein entspanntes Radeln und ist auch für Familien bestens geeignet. In den Dörfern entlang der Strecke gibt es einige Einkehr- und Imbissmöglichkeiten. Tipp: Machen Sie die Radtour zu einem Rundweg über die Anbindung Thüringer Städtekette

Le parcours vélo traverse l’idyllique Nessetal avec ses petits villages, ses champs fertiles, ses prairies colorées et ses douces plaines fluviales. La Nesse – une rivière typique de plaine – prend sa source dans le quartier Alach d’Erfurt et se jette après près de 55 km à la périphérie de la ville d’Eisenach dans la Hörsel. Le Nessetal-Radweg a un charme très particulier. Il traverse la campagne naturelle et agricole classique de Thuringe et relie en même temps deux des villes les plus importantes historiquement et culturellement de Thuringe : Erfurt et Eisenach. Une troisième – la ville de résidence Gotha – est également reliée au Nessetal-Radweg par trois circuits cyclables régionaux. Le plus long tronçon (près de 40 km) du parcours passe par la partie nord du district de Gotha (de Gamstädt à Haina) et traverse donc des collines douces utilisées pour l’agriculture avec des fonds de vallée et des crêtes calcarées boisées. Sur le tronçon Warza jusqu’à l’aérodrome Kindel, le parcours suit environ 16 km l’« ancienne voie ferrée », l’ancienne emprise de la « ligne de chemin de fer Nessetal ». À l’exception du tronçon un peu plus exigeant de l’aérodrome Kindel à Eisenach, le Nessetal-Radweg permet une balade à vélo détendue et convient aussi parfaitement aux familles. Dans les villages le long du parcours, il y a quelques possibilités de restauration et de snacks. The cycle path runs through the idyllic Nessetal with its small villages, fertile fields, colorful meadows, and gentle river floodplains. The Nesse – a typical lowland river – rises in the Erfurt district of Alach and flows into the Hörsel on the outskirts of Eisenach after just under 55 km. The Nessetal cycle path has a very special charm. It runs through classic Thuringian nature and farmland and connects two of the historically and culturally most significant cities of Thuringia: Erfurt and Eisenach. A third – the residential city Gotha – is also connected to the Nessetal cycle path via three regional long-distance cycle routes. The longest section (just under 40 km) of the path runs through the northern district of Gotha (Gamstädt to Haina) and thus over agriculturally used, gently rolling hills with valley floodplains and wooded shell limestone ridges. On the section from Warza to the Eisenach-Kindel airfield, it runs about 16 km directly on the "old railway track", the former track bed of the "Nessetalbahn". Apart from the somewhat more demanding section from Kindel airfield to Eisenach, the Nessetal cycle path allows a relaxed ride and is also well suited for families.
