Das Bach-Stammhaus, auch bekannt als Oberbackhaus, wurde bereits von Veit Bach bewohnt und beherbergt seit 1994 eine Bach-Gedenkstätte mit einem Museum über den Ort Wechmar zu Veit Bachs Zeiten, die heutige Bachpflege des Ortes und Ausstellungsteile zu den Thüringer Spielleuten und Instrumentenbauern. Im Hof kann man den größten überlieferten Stammbaum der Bach-Familie bewundern, der im Museum durch zahlreiche weitere Stammbäume aus unterschiedlichen Zeiten ergänzt wird. Die Wiege der Familie Bach liegt mitten in Thüringen. Das Bach-Stammhaus ist international anerkannte Bachgedenkstätte.

The Bach ancestral home, also known as the Oberbackhaus (upper bakery), was already the home of Veit Bach, and has been a Bach memorial site since 1994 with a museum about the town of Wechmar during Veit Bach’s lifetime, the Bach heritage there today, and exhibitions on Thuringian minstrels and instrument makers. The largest surviving family tree of the wide-spread family in the yard is impressive. It is supplemented inside the museum by numerous other family trees from various periods. The cradle of the Bach family is in the middle of Thuringia. The Bach ancestral home is an internationally recognized Bach memorial.
