The route connects the architecture of Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray with the traces of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and shows how closely poetry and architecture are intertwined in this city of the classics. Coudray, who as Grand Ducal Chief Building Director significantly shaped the cityscape, left numerous buildings that still define Weimar's historic center today. At the same time, Goethe's influence is reflected in many of these places – whether as client, resident, or source of inspiration. The tour leads to significant buildings of the Weimar classic period, including the city palace, the Wittumspalais, and the Fürstenhaus. The architectural journey is complemented by literary sites such as Goethe’s garden house and the Tempelherrenhaus.
