Sie zeigt auf zwei Etagen Goethes faszinierendes Leben und Werk aus dem Blickwinkel noch heute aktueller Fragestellungen und schöpft dabei aus einem einzigartigen Fundus wertvoller Originale. Ein Präsentationsraum zeigt wechselnde Ausstellungsobjekte rund um den Dichter. In seinem Wohnhaus am Frauenplan lebte und wirkte Goethe fast 50 Jahre. Zahlreiche originale Stücke sowie Möbel aus seinem Nachlass können noch heute in 18 zugänglichen Räumen besichtigt werden. Einige der Zimmer sind mit Goethes beeindruckenden Kunst- und naturwissenschaftlichen Sammlungen ausgestaltet. Mit dem sogenannten „Goethe-Apparat“ (eine interaktive 3D-Medienstation) können Gäste den historischen Zeichentisch Goethes genauer unter die Lupe nehmen. Vom Garten aus bietet sich ein herrlicher Blick auf das Wohnhaus.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and his legacy are timeless. This is vividly demonstrated by the exhibition “Flood of Life – Storm of Deeds” at the Goethe National Museum. On two floors, the exhibition depicts Goethe’s fascinating life and works with respect to contemporary issues and draws inspiration from an extraordinary collection of priceless originals. A presentation room features regularly changing exhibits highlighting aspects of the poet’s life and legacy. Goethe lived and worked in this residence on Frauenplan for almost 50 years. There are numerous original pieces and furniture from his estate which are still displayed in 18 publicly accessible rooms. Some of the rooms contain Goethe’s impressive art and natural scientific collections. With the “Goethe Apparatus” (an interactive 3-D media station), visitors can gain a close-up view of Goethe’s historical drawing table. From the garden outside, one can enjoy a wonderful view of the residence.

Certaines de ces pièces sont aménagées avec les impressionnantes collections d'art et de sciences naturelles de Goethe. Grâce au "Goethe-Apparat" (une station multimédia interactive en 3D), les visiteurs peuvent examiner de plus près la table à dessin historique de Goethe. Dzięki tak zwanemu „Goethe-Apparat” (interaktywnej stacji multimedialnej 3D) goście mogą dokładniej przyjrzeć się historycznemu stołowi kreślarskiemu Goethego. Z ogrodu rozciąga się wspaniały widok na dom.
